I haven't noticed anything, well, except for the two most recently locked threads where almost everyone got hit.

Please no Dischord, not you too. This "working on it" is likely what drove Xyem away (there were very heated threads), and is a road to nowhere.

By all means work on it, but please don't be another casualty when it frustrates?

When I started the day today my rep was 21 but as you can see I have also been a victim of the down repping plague. So when I first joined GOG I was a bit concerned about rep as I was new and didn't wanna offend anyone and be cool but I started to notice that my rep was going down everytime I reached a shuriken by 4 everytime. I didn't know who was appalled by my comments at first but then I noticed that it didn't really have anything to do with the content of my posts so I just decided to ignore it as there is nothing that will stop people from doing it. Recently though a lot of other folks have been hit as well and Slyfox on the ninja thread brought it up contacted the GOG team about it as well, also Zuvran7 has voting going on to revamp the system as well.

Long story short if the system changes then well and good, if not life will go on with me ending up in negative rep but there would be no use for me to curl up in the fetal position in the corner worrying about it because that is exactly what the down reppers want, to be noticed, what a great way to make themselves feel good. :)

Its not the rep that matters, its the principle of the thing that someone is doing this without good reason. The Numbers just represent that.

I have been stuck at around 601-600 for weeks now and I have not said anything wrong or hurtful. And this is me without my own laptop.

(Again I am typing this through my brothers desktop which he does not let me use often)

That reminds me, and this should help with Licurg's rep. You may not know this but our friend there is also quite the humanitarian and recently foot the bill for a brand new hospital in his home town, named of course for him. It looks great.

I think what theslitherydeee is getting at is the senseless loss of rep that for newcomers in particular makes them feel ostracised from the rest of the community - particularly when its not a case (very often) of even seeing a low rated post, and when it is, it is without meaning. Take two threads of mine I had locked recently for that very reason:

Often the derepping is invisible though, and at any rate, does not present a good front for those of us that frequent this place. So, to those of you that seem to think it "doesn't matter" - reconsider that ultimately it may not matter, but for new people to integrate it can be a big deal.

Now all we need are threads about leechers and giveaway clutter. The trifecta will be complete.
