PS:T worked because it did everything different than those carbon copy BG clones that flooded the market back then. It is a testament to this game that it worked despite that shitty engine.
I know there's an exception to every rule and opinion, for example, I love Infinity Engine games, but I HATE Baldur's Gate >.>

Think that covers them all, am I missing any?
Sword of Wh'Ynn was removed from the game.
Well, I give in on the Celestial Fire, but that is more a glorified dagger ;-).

But I loved Icewind Dale 2. Mostly because they went from quantity to quality of the enemies, and you fought as many battles, but with lesser number of enemies but more different kinds of them at once.

Personally, I never minded "RTS with swords", but I prefer turn-based battles. It's a pity that nobody does that anymore. Not even Obsidian.

PS:T was a brilliant game despite the IE, not because of it. It started as an engine for an RTS. Which it shows in every game it uses.

Ah, you mean usable swords. Should have said so :P
Isn't it added with a restored content patch or something?
It becomes whatever you want it to, but don't think that many had a sword proficiency
Of course, all these are from memory, and memory fails me after a few years, so do take it with a grain of salt.

Although to be far, late game, Arcanum was broken in real time. >.>

Wasn't the real time combat in Arcanum utterly broken? I never used it because it was hardly playable...

Very much depends on the player. If it came out in 1999, it would get average to above average reviews, with people complaining about it not innovating sufficiently. Today, it's like you are playing a game from 1999 - with all it's flaws.
