Dungeon Keeper 2, now with fully supported hardware acceleration.

At GOG.com we try to treat our games like our children--with care, tolerance, love and understanding. If they’re not ready and prepared, we don’t release them. When we see they’re doing great on modern systems, we pack them with some extra goodies to keep them warm and safe, and send them out to the homes of the best people we could ever find--you, gamers, GOGers!

And we never forget about our games, oh no! Every once in a while, one of our testers checks how our releases are doing and then we can contact you and say: “It’s a dangerous world out there. This patch, update, soundtrack, and artbook might help you.”

Today, we’re extremely happy to tell you that within minutes you will be able to play the best, the fastest, and the most reliable version of Dungeon Keeper 2 out there, all thanks to a small patch, named 'Hardware acceleration fix', that can be downloaded from your ‘My Account’ section. Play Dungeon Keeper with hardware acceleration and 1024x768 resolution (fully supported on ATI and NVIDIA cards) as it’s supposed to be played--slick, smooth, and super-cool.

In addition to that, we’ve added some great extras to The Witcher and The Witcher 2:
- new print-ready HD version of the TW2EE artbook--that’s 332 MB of the pure awesomeness
- seven “Behind the Scenes” videos for The Witcher
- 14 video interviews with the creators of The Witcher
- metal music video advertising The Witcher

Download the Dungeon Keeper 2 patch and awesome extras for the Witcher games from your ‘My Account’ page. We also recommend using our GOG.com Downloader.
when i saw the headline a small part of me hoped beyond hope that there would be some mention of the mac version of witcher coming to gog, but alas it is not to be. i should finish ultima 7 before i move on to other rpgs anyway.
so if i were to buy the game now, does it come patched?
Nice, now I can finally play DK2 with max settings and not have it crash in the first 2 to 15 minutes. It may take you guys a while but you are true to your word, you said you would try and fix the game and you did. So hopefully this means your still looking into fixing the temple bug in Betrayal in Antara

deonast: Excellent always love the bonus content. Odd I don't see the 300mb art boot in my list. I see the older 73 mb one. Am I missing something or is it called something different?
TW1's artbook is 73 MB large, and we have updated the artbook for TW2. Checking your account did prompt us to update the Australian version artbook's size, though, as it was still at 40-ish MB... :)

stevef: so if i were to buy the game now, does it come patched?
No, the patch is a separate download much like the Tomb Raider 1+2+3 patch as it's only for those who have issues so don't want to apply a fix to the main installer/release and risk breaking the game for those who were not having any issues.
Nice news, GOG, thanks! :)
Now if you guys could only provide us with the Direct 3D version of Dungeon Keeper 1 including The Deeper Dungeons... (or simply Dungeon Keeper Gold with applied D3D patch)

Edit: Oh yeah, and fixing the bonus content of ArmA: CWA would be nice (my favourite song from the soundtrack - Overdose - suddenly ends after a minute, just before the good stuff should begin).

BEASTLY! DK2 was one of those games that kinda got under my skin, because of all the apparent issues people were having. Hopefully this will now work for more people, and they will be able to change their reviews from one or two stars to four or five. :)

Excellent work. Great news about the new bonus material for the Ws, also. Please keep bringing more whenever you have the time and energy. ;-) (I need to try to contact Alexander Brandon and friends about the Unreal soundtrack.)
Love the Witcher promo music video! Excellent! Thanks for adding the extras! I really enjoy that stuff. I will watch the rest of the videos later on.

I forget now but wasn't it the case before that DK2 didn't work right with ATI cards or some ATI cards? Maybe I am wrong about that but there was some reason I held off on buying that one even though it looked like a lot of fun. It sounds like I could play it on my system now. Yay! I will have to have another look at it.
Should it still be possible to download any of the bonus content individually via my browser? When I click on a single link (e.g. "behind the scenes" for TW1), nothing happens ... :(

Also, could anyone kindly list what exactly the new stuff for TW1 is (with the names of the links)? The "New" flag already seems to have disappeared now that I temporarily switched to the forum before trying to download again. (Personally, I think I'd prefer if the flag remained until the content was downloaded for the first time, but maybe that's impractical for some reason?)

Wow...
Just wow... :)

It's awesome that you don't just throw your games into the shopping system and that's it but also sort of care about what you sell. Today that's both rare and awesome...
Kudos to you GOG-team and thanks for the continuous support of your games! (Releasing video extras for Witcher 1 was especially impressive!) :)
Time to go buy DK2!!
Has anybody already posted this?:

“It’s a dangerous world out there. This patch, update, soundtrack, and artbook might help you.”

LEGEND OF ZELDA CONFIRMED!
Cool. I hope GOG releases a patch that fixes the Theme Hospital performance issues next. Or they release the Windows version of the game.
