gyokzoli: No, the Bible doesn't say anything about software piracy, but it does talk about theft and human laws. Stealing and breaking human laws are both sins.
avatar
Tancredo: That's no entirely right. Stealing is a sin, but breaking an unjust human law (abortion, euthanasie) is not a sin.
Read above.....piracy is't steallllling. *jumps off cliff*
Software piracy can’t be justified as sharing as long as it violates the law of GOG. Amen.

What if a group of us buy one gog and all sit at one pc and share the keyboard? 0.o

Ah, I guess that explains why the Church partly collaborated with the nazi regime. :P

That's quite a complicated theological question you bring up there ...

I was asking if it's still piracy if people play/share that way. ;)
avatar
GameRager: Specifically this version "Also in 2011, King James Bible Society released The King James Audio Visual Bible: 400th Anniversary Free Download Edition."

Darling_Jimmy: Well, there are actually a lot of translations still protected by copyright. I just linked to the King James translation because I find it fascinating that it has a copyright term of forever.
Forever?! WOW! I can see where Mickey Mouse gets his inspiration now. :(

Thanks for pointing out that interesting fact.

Actually no since those human laws must be broken which oppose the Bible. The Catholic Curch commited sin when they collaborated the nazi regime. But ofcourse that Church will never confess its sins.
Folks should be more worried about what the Necronomicon says about piracy. I mean, if you are looking for a moral compass...
the bible is a best seller... People have made more money of this peice of literature, than any other writen book in history.. Boy people sure do love a good story..

though it makes me wonder.. cause the entire thing is plagerized.. :P

GameRager: *Sighs when someone brings up theft yet again in a piracy debate*

Piracy is not theft, but copyright infringement. Must I keep bringing the bloody dictionary out for every person that says this? *hangs head and sighs*
Not trying to get you depressed here, but I'm curious as to what you think of "identity theft"?

Not exactly the same as physical stealing of goods either. It's a crime in a class of it's own, imo.

It's a form of fraud. It's not actually theft although it usually results in theft.
I'm not usually a fan of these threads as they usually end up in religious debates, but i have a question.

If someone has stolen in the past, be it a physical item or digital, do you think they will be forgiven? Or is it a matter of, you have commited it once you are going to hell?

Or would there be a way to atone for it or if you really regret it, you will be forgiven? I would like to know your thoughts on that.

If there is a god(I think there might be something like it out there somewhere, but I disgress), then I don't think he/she/it would be concerned with the little things mortals like us did and would be concentrating on universal scale matters.

If he/she/it did monitor such, I think they'd be forgiving considering our shortcomings compared to them.
