Thou shall not only copy but also buy things, as much as you can.

For exemple, Jesus and his apostles performed quite a lot of of piracy acts, but they also acted legally when they could.

keeveek: Well, Jesus was "copying" (or "pirating") the bread and fishes, so I assume he was pro piracy.

Darling_Jimmy: You're right. Didn't god command us to be fruity and multiply our software?
That's fruitful and multiply. According to many fundamentalists being fruity is a sin.

IMO people are just jealous others get free stuff so they feel they have the right to nag such people about it whenever they can....as if it makes them right for doing so.

Everything fun and/or sexual is a sin sadly, or so it seems.

Leroux: Are you suggesting religions like Christianity include a concept of forgiveness? What a novel idea! Next you'll tell me Jesus also had love for whores, outcasts and criminals! And there was me thinking religion was all about looking down on other people, pointing out their vices and frightening them with the idea of hell if their way of living is different from yours ... ;)
O_o All i did was ask a question, i didn't suggest anything. Sigh this is the reason i don't like these religous threads.

In truth no topic is really fun to discuss, if you take it too serious. ;)

That's not what Ted Haggard told me last night.

pH7: No disrespect/rudeness intended. What exactly am I jumping the gun on?

GameRager: I may be wrong but some here(I thought you might be one) are thinking that if you discuss semantics or correct them that piracy isn't the same crime as theft that that automatically means you believe a certain way on other things.
Ok, that's what I was trying to figure out - your concern regarding the use of the word "theft" is purely based on semantics, rather than the case being discussed. I understand that, as I sometimes do exactly the same. However, I've also learned (the hard way - was nearly disinherited for it (ok, I'm really stubborn as well; which didn't really help any)) that only a few people are willing and/or able to see that as a separate issue (not "theft" especially but semantics/correctness in general), and that it usually creates a lot more confusion and bad temper than the original incorrect use of a term/phrase/whatever.

On that note, I'm pretty sure I've seen you talking about pirates spoofing their IPs. That's completely wrong - they can't =P They can hide, but spoofing their IP would only make sense if they were trying to frame someone for downloading (or as part of a DDoS attack). That is, unless they've hacked into an ISP's system, in which case I wouldn't have bothered with spoofing (so many other interesting possibilities).
Well, I know this isn't exactly biblical...

But The Quran is an important holy book too, so here is a nice piece on Islamic gaming which mentions piracy.

Ok, you got me there, THAT topic might be fun if it's getting serious (or very awkward, but let's be optimistic). <3

pH7: ... spoofing their IP would only make sense if they were trying to frame someone for downloading (or as part of a DDoS attack).
Framing is not the only reason. Someone could spoof their IP to frame someone else, yes. Or they could spoof their IP address just to make it harder to track them down - provide a dead end... It might look like framing, but not the intent.

passionata: And they did sin again when they blessed the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki!

...
Everyone going around blessing weapons and soldiers etc should have their heads examined. And that includes those saying 'god bless <insert nation or ruler of your choice>' - what in the bible makes you believe that god would make any distinction between nationalities when it comes to blessings?
I totally agree with you dude or dudess ;) How many lifes have been taken in the name of god or by one who was "told by god"? Or better by folks saying it was by gods divine order? I do not know for sure but I say NI DIO NI AMO - NO GODS NO MASTERS!
