For me it is definitely strategy games with RPGs in second and simulation games in third.
My top three would be RPG's, Adventure Games and Strategy/Simulations.
FPSs are my favorite, adventure games are my second favorite
I love RPGs the most. But i do play adventure games, strategies and F:PS from time to time.

Currently playing KOTOR2 with restoration mod, Achranox and X-COM: UFO Defense.
I'd probably go with RPG's first, followed by strategy (or maybe tied). Shooters don't generally do much for me, but it all depends; I love Hellgate: London, but it's a shooter with a lot of grinding, which I don't mind.

Overall I tend to enjoy games more if there's a lot of micro-managing, collecting resources, building up armies and bases, doing research.
- turn based strategy games
- jRPGs
- RPGs
- shmups (I love them)
- racing games

and many, many more.
Rpgs almost exclusively. Although I'm one that counts Deus Ex in that category, so I suppose action games to a degree as well. I'm just no good at them. If it's player skill that counts the most, I'm not so good. Old reflexes I guess. Rpgs that emphasize character skills are my favorites. If they are turn-based combat, all the better.
CRPGs first and foremost
Followed by strategy games and adventure games.

But I'm playing games from most genres

This is tough. I grew up on shooters and Morrowind, so I would think I would be more inclined to those kind of games.
But in actuality, TBS games are my favorite as well as RPGs and indie games/artistic games. Don't know why.
RPG's, JRPG's, and adventure games. I also like puzzle games when I feel like a quick time waster.
1. Open world Western RPGs
2. First Person Shooters.

I'd have to go with RPGs mainly but I also love stealth games and there are a few shooters I like.
None.

I can equally enjoy any genre as long as I like the content.
no particular genre, its good game that defines genre for me
