PS. Once this patch is in the tests right now, we already have started working on the next one in which we want to solve some more issues, including hardware specific problems (ie. g35 compatibility). Patch 1.1 seems to be very major one, but still if you don't find your problem on the list, there is a big chance that it will fixed soon in next patch. And we will really do all this ASAP.

The minimap spoiled the game for me. It should be possible to turn it off.
Alas now i only care about the resolution fix those black bars are annoying.
Still looking for a link I can MANUALLY download the patch. Are the hidden DRM fears I've had for Witcher 2 GOG edition come to pass? The last thing I want is ANY automatic, cannot control, stuff happening in the backgrouond of forground I canot control. Avoiding that is why I came to gog.com in the first place. My XP Box is NOT going on the Internet. Especailly if some automaic thing in any game I've installed is on a remote control "check in" routine. DA 1 was annoying but I could control it. But...the moment I let it through my firewall it became a hastle the moment I allowed it connectivity so i had to shelve/remove it as it wouldn't stop once I let it on. Not going to make that mistake again.Internet based DRM is a deal breaker for me. While I've heard gog.com will update the files once the patch cycle is finished, that could be months with the bugs reported. I don't mind the bugs so much as I mind not being able use my "drm free" without being tied to CDPr's servers. That is Internet based DRM from a functional prespective. And the clean XP box is NOT going on line again. Anyone heard of an official alternative way to get the patches so I can download it manually on my "sandboxed" linux file server?

If you bothered to read the official website, you'd know they will have a manual download available for the patch. But, ranting paranoia is far easier, I suppose.

Edit: Oh wait, there it was in the quoted message right above yours, so even if you were too lazy to check the official website, you could have answered your own question.

No sorry. There is no link.above my last post.Went to the website first and foremost. Looked for one. all I've seen so far is an article stating it will be there if I put my box on line at a gaming news site. There is a link for a "possible" widescreen fix.

Cool. Been trying to register manually for days and get info on this for days. I'll be watching for it. Thanks. All the reassurance I was looking for. Others will be glad to know as well. Does anyone know where one can look for this link once it is ready? I've seen no changes on the community or support of www.thewitcher.com for a bit now. Am I looking at the wrong site?

been to www.thewitcher.com many times. Last post I've seen was yesterday saying they were updaing the servers. Nothing since. There is no link except to "possible " ratio fixes which is not the actual patch. One of us is confused. If you know where the official link is, why not post it for the benefit of all.

Note that they're not saying all future patches will be delivered in this fashion. Just the next one, from the looks of the post, as it's supposed to fix the issues with the in-game DLer/patcher.

As far as where to get it when it's released, I'd assume it will be linked on the official site. Look for it tomorrow at some point, as they said they're aiming for hopefully late in the day on Wednesday their time.

you have an excellent point as usual. I HOPE they will do this with their all patches as a matter of "best practices" but you are correct. They may not post future patches the same way. only time will tell...but, here's hoping. Again many thanks Coelocanth for your clear insight.
All I wanna know is is the patch just going to automatically install whenever it's released tomorrow when I run the launcher? Do I have to check in the DLC section and manually start it? Is it just going to auto start when I launch the game itself?

I'm going to voice my guess here .. as it's just a guess. But I've noticed that all day today when I start the Launcher I actually get online to their server (the lightning bolt in tn the upper left hand corner of the launcher appears). Of course it then trys to go to the downloadable content (the Troll DLC) and with it's looping it knocks me offline.

So IMHO when you/I start the Launcher sometime tomorrow after the patch 1.1 is ported to the servers you'll get the automatic upload of the update and with any luck it'll all verify and install without a hitch.

And if that don't work .. I'll go looking for the manual version of the patch.

Just got a reply from a CDPR staff member assuring me there would be a manual download for this patch. Don't have a URL yet, but I'll post the URL here when I do.
The reason you do not have a link (and why there was no link in any of the earlier posts you were asking about) is that the patch has not been released yet. There is no patch yet. The patch does not yet exist.

Be patient.
"Are we there yet?" lol :-P

My thoughts exactly! My understanding is they anticipate a evening release Polish time. Possibly 6 PM or 7PM their time, which would be 10 or 11am Pacific and 1 or 2PM eastern time in North America. Purely speculation, but I'd be surprised if I was way off.
Still Any info does the patch need a new game? Would be a bit silly as Im half-way through :/

It seems to be quite major patch so I probably should prepare for the worse.
