AstralWanderer: I would also ask for all patches and updates to be made available as separate downloads. Not doing so punishes and inconveniences those who do not have a satisfactory Internet connection on their gaming system (which can occur for several reasons including choice, location and vocation), it makes everyone else's copies reliant on CDPR/GOG's servers remaining online (and we know GOG never goes offline, right?) and it costs CDPR/GOG more in the long term due to multiple downloads (per install, rather than per user).
Not providing such an update is not only unlikely to deter software piracy but would almost force those who are concerned about game longevity to acquire it from unofficial sources (as is the case with DLC currently).
As for those commenting on performance, have you used tools like MSI Afterburner to check on video card memory usage? I'm seeing it max out a 1GB Nvidia 460GTX on (mostly) high settings, something which I've only seen with Crysis (and that was with 4xAA at 2560x1600). With settings at Ultra it would seem unlikely that even the reference top-end Nvidia cards (1.5GB) would manage (though Palit/Gainward do offer cards with double the VRAM).
In comparison, the most system RAM I've seen Witcher 2 use is 1.3GB.
Oops - missed Vitor121796's post about a manual download being made available. If so, then many thanks CDP!
jlibster: Excellent Points! You may enjoy knowing that several GOG gamers have ALREADY gone to pirate links to get DLC they could not get with the in-game installer. (including myself but I haven't scanned my file for viruses/trojans yet as I haven't installed the game...waiting for the patch) Had CDPR done what you suggested, it is probable that these victims wouldn't have had to risk using pirate site files to get promised content for a legal purchase. One could argue that DLC isn't a vital component, but we were all told registered people would get the DLC (not Expansion packs) free and GOG people are technically already registered. Given the Witcher 2 world is by all reports smaller than Witcher 1 people were eager for additional content. Can't even register manually via the site, although there are links in the upper right corner with blank targets (what's with that...?) Some speculation by gog members that after patch 1.1, other patches may only be avalable through official channels through the in-game downloader. Would love to hear from CDPR that ALL patches will be available through manual links via their website. But no such promises yet. Only the upcoming patch has been mentioned to the best of my knowledge. Not providing such an update is not only unlikely to deter software piracy but would almost force those who are concerned about game longevity to acquire it from unofficial sources (as is the case with DLC currently).

djlethal: Actually, on my system, Witcher 2 uses about 2.6 GB of RAM. Sometimes a bit more.
1920x1080, Ultra, AMD HD6970.
Also, my video card has 2GB of RAM, and it can handle the "Very Large" texture size, however it puts a LOT of stress on the rest of my system. I don't think it's very well implemented. I don't think it's very well implemented.
Also, I too want standalone patches. I've been having the problem with the DLC, frustrating.
jlibster: Its probably the SecuROM. Reports indicate that people with the DVD/Steam versions (which have SecuROM) have lost significant FPS. Told the patch will improve (but not entirely eliminate) that. 1920x1080, Ultra, AMD HD6970.
