revial: I don't think I've ever drank anything from a shoe.

I now have another item on my to-do-before-I-get-cancer list. :p

Are you playing your love games with me?
Make an assessment.
Hi, I'm posting here since the forums are still down on the main site. I installed patch 1.1 on my North American retail version, having unfortunately downloaded it before it got pulled :( Not only did the patch not fix "Troll Trouble," (still can't play poker with the guy to get the troll's head) but, even worse, it (partially) broke the control scheme when using an xbox 360 controller, as both thumbsticks no longer work in menus/at the title screen. My question to anyone from CD Projekt (or anyone else in the know) is how to fix this. Do I simply wait for the fixed 1.1 to be reuploaded? Or do I have to go through the hassle of uninstalling/reinstalling my game to get back to the vanilla version?

Hakiem: run regedit and remove it from the download folder under the Witcher II folder
That did the trick, thanks!

I was kind of afraid of that when I saw the links pulled. Kidda of figured it was more than just an "opps, links removed by mistake". If I were you I'd uninstall the game, manually delete ANY files and registry entries for Witcher 2, and reinstall from scratch. You may be able to export/reimport your saves (haven't played yet so I'm guessing). If the patch is corrupt there is no other safe way to do this. Also, may want to write to CDPR and report this in case they are not aware of all the issues. I could be wrong, but when when a patch is corrupt I find only reliable way to repair, is to do a CLEAN reinstall.

Folks, think we'd better wait for Friday. That was their initial new ETA.

Same thing happened to me however all it did was reset my settings. I had to go into ingame options and turn my pad on again and reset my video settings and all was fine,
I'm also getting kind of fed up with all of these "We'll release it SOON!!" followed by more than a 24-hour wait statements by CDPR. While my version of the game is largely un-bugged, I can't finish Chapter 1 until after they fix the launcher so I can get the Troll Trouble DLC. What the gently caress is up?

We at the GOG forum would like to salute those few brave souls (aka Guinea Pigs) who on behalf of the gaming community are prepared to make the ultmate sacrifice of their mostly working Witcher 2 to help ensure that the rest of us have a smooth gaming experience by wanting to be the first to try the patch before Friday. We salute you....

Where did you get this Friday idea into your head? I hope it was other than the obvious trolls posting that earlier on the news page of the official site...
