vAddicatedGamer: Unfortunately you don't always get the chance to die honourably like in Diablo 2, so yeah I can see why it feels unfair.

Flitters: Honorably? You mean like in D2 where ya go run back to your cold dead body naked to get your stuff back fighting the same evil that claimed you in the first place?

=D
Sir, in Diablo 2 Hardcore, once you're dead, the corpse can be looted only by those remaining in the game and if you allowed them to do it previously. Your char becomes a Ghost, never to join a game again!

I was #1 USEast Diablo Classic HC Ladder for a long while in 2001 before moving to LOD and then it was 100x Mephisto runs a day, Hell diff. And a power shortage or HD crash killing my lvl 90+ toon hurted more than the kayran killing my Geralt because I hadn't figured out the exact mechanics of that fight but now I have.

SCREW HARD DIFF. (that would be like going D2 vanilla softcore when dying in HC)

I'm restarting Insane! =) Hardcore FTW!

Yeah on hardcore you're just plain ole ghostly and no fun in that I assure you. But you can join another game if you're talking Battlenet. I only played on Battlenet with a few friends which was quite fun and insane as we all decided to play the same character and dress exaclty the same. NOW that was fun and funny. =D
sorry to go away from the OP's topic but I really hope diablo 3 has hardcore mode.. it's what kept diablo 2 alive for me for so long, my friends and I played hardcore mode to death.. literally hehe
Hey buddy, at least you didn't hang yourself. Although this *should* be a lesson to you, insane isn't much harder than high difficulty so I'm not even sure why you played it... probably because of the prospect of losing your saves but what's the point then if you just want to come online and hit the retry button?
