Wolfehunter: Don't bother trying to find a work around with the random game freeze crashes. It is a broken game. We have to wait for a fix. From they're own forums they're aware of this issue. Your not alone in this. Alot of people having issues for the PC.

personalization win 7 to basic theme and in wither 3 option for i believe video blur motion and sharpness all that off - but it seems most impact had rolling back drivers to 348 for nvidia

I'm using ati R9 290x with latest drivers. It has nothing todo with nvidia or ati or windows. This is an issue with the game. Its broken. Its designed for consoles. I'm not trying to bash cdprojekts but they're not helping the situation. The reason for extended time to polish and fix this game was so we didn't have this problems. Too much love went to the console version and not enough for PC.
The same here, randome crash:

GeForxe GTX 770
Cpu: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770CPU @3.40GHz, 1920x 1080, 60Hz
8GB of RAM

hope they will fix it soon...
If anyone knows about a patch, please tell us

ladyjuliana: I am having similar to this as well. Playing along and my fullscreen game will minimize on its own, stuttering with a black screen at first, then the game just minimizes to the task bar. I can still hear everything going on and have no cursor available. I have to alt-tab to a different open window to regain control of my cursor then force close the game.
Same problem.

Specs:
i7 2600k
8GB ram
GTX 970 (352.86)
win 7 x64

348 driver doesn't exist... However revetring to 347.88 (before GTA V) driver causes texture flickering and overlaping, so that's not the way.

/edit: Switching scheme to basic is also without any effect.
So far i have found no valid solution and game keeps crashing. I gues it's really on CD Project now to come up with another patch.

Found the way, how to stabilize the game.

Somewhere on this forum is mentioned UNDERclocking GPU... Using the MSI Afterburner software i have lowered the frequency of my GPU by 100MHz and after that i was allowed to play for several hours uninterrupted.

i7 - 950: 3,06GHz
GTX 660Ti
10 GB RAM
I tried the underclocking but it didn't work for me.

Right now I'm playing in windows mode (not full screen borderless) and it seems working, I've played for 3 hours without any crash.
Well that didn't work for me for a change :-D ... Damn! >:-(
I have fixed my freezing and tooltip menu crashes (or just menu crashes) by uninstalling Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 and installing Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 (web installer on the microsoft site). I still got a weird issue with the main menu and cutscenes though. Low FPS :P, Game runs fine. Ah well, atleast the crashes stopped.

Been playing for quite awhile now =].

Simple steps (Windows 7):

1. Go to > Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 (it's probably 4.5.2)
2. Go to > https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851 and download the web installer.
3. Install the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 with the Microsoft Web Installer.
4. Start up the game.
5. You may have profit.

For me it worked and no, that doesn't mean it works for you.

Note: I had the low FPS for menu and cutscenes before I applied this "fix".

For cutscenes I found this on PCGamer maybe it help you :

Locate the visuals.ini file in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\base folder. Open the file with notepad and change MovieFramerate=30 to MovieFramerate=60. You may need to change the ubersampling value to false if performance can’t keep up.
Underclocking

Uninstalling the microsoft net framework ( wich is neccesary for lots of programs )

Uninstalling of other software non related to the Wicher 3

or having to disble hardware or software we use on daily basis ( like internet connection or antivirus

Are considered as non viable solution.
Can anyone confirm if the new patch solves the freezing problem?

Also i found what is supposed to be an external patch/solution although i haven't tried it... It is on gameserrors.com which is an unknown site for me so i don't know if it is safe to use it. Any comment would help.

By the way i was not allowed to post link

Unfortunately, not completely. For me, it was possible at least to pass tutorial. Freezing started again during fight with ghouls. Just don't know what to say. I'm a bit anointed and frustrated. Second patch and hurrah I can play for whole 10 min without having to hard reset computer......

PS. This shaking foliage looks ridiculous BTW.
Yeah, that was the same advice fro DAI crashes....we dont have to underclock our gear. What will be next advice, playing with igp?
They dev games on fuckin amazing computers and they seem surprised their game does not work fine on common PC. Maybe its time to dev on common PC, the PC almost anyone can afford, not a quad-Titan's sli?

I took over an hour, but with 1.03 patch the game crashed again. Underclocking GPU seemed the only thing that helped me, so i'm gona try get back to it.
