Would be nice considering all they've done - not that Santa will be paying attention!
Thank you Sachys, The Sigil and chadjenofsky for the thoughtful and benevolent giveaway!

I do wish Santa paid attention to your charitable deeds!

May these donations help improve the life of those in need and inspire others to contribute in any way they can.

Merry Christmas, you generous people! +++++1

I thought I'd share an email received from the President & CEO of the Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico:

It truly starts with you! Thanks to your $75 gift on behalf of the GOG.com forum community, your generosity sets the foundation which sparks a chain of events to bring food to 70,000 people each week throughout the state.

As we reflect on our year, we look at how our expanded mission is guiding us in our work every day. We will continue to strive to FEED every hungry person today, but we are also SEEDING partnerships that build self-sufficiency for tomorrow and LEADING to achieve our vision of permanently ending hunger in New Mexico. To demonstrate how this expanded mission works, we want you to meet Carol.

Carol is a young working mother of two children. Her husband was laid off three months ago and still looking for full-time work. For the very first time in her life, Carol had to ask for help with food. She visited one of our mobile food pantry sites and told us, “I don’t even have food in the fridge right now.”

That day she took home enough food to last a week or two, but thanks to community partnerships Carol was able to receive other services too. Her children were able to get free flu shots while she waited in line for food. When she shared with us her son needed a tooth pulled, our on-site partners gave her information on how to access their low-cost dental services. Carol came seeking our help with food, but we were able to connect her with other resources at the same time. In fact, she took home information for her husband to review about job training programs our community partners also had available that same day.

This one-stop approach benefits our hungry neighbors by giving them access to multiple services at our food distribution sites. Our core purpose will always focus on feeding hungry children, seniors and families in our state, but our expanded mission will also seek out ways to keep people from being hungry in the first place. To learn more about our expanded mission visit www.rrfb.org/2015videos.

Your generosity allows us to think differently about our work and to bring that new vision to life. Thank you for being our partner and for helping give our neighbors hope that tomorrow will be brighter, better and filled with more possibilities for the future.

Warmest holiday wishes,

Sincerely,

Thanks again, Jen... seriously, NM is one of the poorest states in the US and every single dollar helps feed hungry people. But as the message states, this charity goes above and beyond feeding people, they also help them in other ways...ways that give them dignity and support at a time when they need it most.

My son and I used to volunteer with a "homeless" shelter that utilized churches and synagogues to provide housing and meals. But they also provided job search and financial skills training for the parents... plus finding actual homes and helped furnish those dwellings. So finding this charity in our new state that didn't just feed people but also addressed the root cause in some measure really made me grateful and humble to donate both my time and money.
