Tauto: Are you kidding? I would be first on his list to ban (permanently). At least make sense and nominate UNBIASED people for the job. This has got to be your worst ( problem solving situation ) that I have seen. And don't bother trying to make yourself look clever with a smartarse reply..

zeogold: The fact that you and tort take my complaint about GOG and twist it into an opportunity to complain about tinyE pretty much proves the fact that you're a couple of trolls and removes even the slightest bit of validity either of you could have. You do realize that, right?

Tauto: Always,the smart mouth.

zeogold: At least he's smart, unlike you.
A'ight, that's enough trollbaiting for one day. I really need to curb this habit of mine and just ignore you people more.
You just can't help yourself, you need a life.

zeogold: This isn't the problem. The problem is that it's bringing up the old issue to light of GOG not bothering to take care of its loyal community, or taking care of it in the wrong way.
I just thought gog didnt have the resources. I mean features are added pretty much never. Then again, if you worked for a game store, would you do any work? :-P

Breja: And now- a door in the sun appears, and confirms the "hollow sun theory".

I willi admit though, that Hollow Sun sounds like a good name for... something. I was a bout to same that it would be a good band name, but it sounds a bit to emo for that. Maybe a game dev studio?
Seems like the kind of comical crap that the Sunday Sport used to post lol.

Well, that's my point. If they lack the resources, why not just hand over the job to the community themselves? The people here are not only willing to moderate, but we've literally had a few coders who HAVE added new resources, completely unprompted (the Barefoot Essentials)!
If your own community is doing all the work, wouldn't it be a smarter decision to let them work for you by giving them more power?

Like Steam does?

Admittedly, I have no idea what Steam and other communities do. This is literally the only forum I've ever joined.

i suppose but then gog would be ultimately responsible for potentially poor decision made by the community. i don't think a business would want to take that risk

Steam is notorious for oddball moderators on their discussion groups and forums. Also Valve makes games by letting modders do their game development.

doesn't each game on steam have their own set of moderators e.g. the devs in certain cases. i read that the wwe 2k16 devs outright banned anybody who recreated hulk hogan in the game :-O

They have Valve moderators (Very rare.), game developers, game publishers, forum posters the developers like, game publishers janitors, design group leaders, basically every kind of persons even remotely connected to steam as moderators. Oddball.
well i suppose gog could start by toughening up the sign up process. maybe check the sign-ups before activating.
-EDIT- Aaannnddd THEN I read up on the rest of the thread. NVM folks, nothing to see here...

And I wondered where my superglue had gotten to. I should never have left it lying around in the Hermit Cave where wandering chimps can find it.
