stoicsentry: Just waiting on Lewendor's and JackTheKnife's final decision.

They may go to the camp with you or to the village.

After that, you will each return to the Ringmaster where he will grant you new training (a passive ability.) Because you were victorious, you are entitled to this. If you had failed the quest, you wouldn't get it.

Then I will announce the judge's decision on the GOG.

Then you each gain a level. :)
I'll still go to the village. I think the Cobra Division will want this information.

Reverse that I think. I, Xirdneh am going to the camp. Lew is going to the village. I'm not sure where JTK is going as he hasn't posted in the topic or sent me a pm.

Residing in Poland, he's usually on a bit later at night.

And it's not open betrayal... I'm just building our files that everyone knows we have. ;)

Cool.

Hey, please note that it was JTK that was asked specifically to return to the village, so if you go by yourself, no one is really going to know who you are.... if you go with him, a bit better. :)

I think he'll return to the village. He specifically said in a PM to me during the game that he wanted to go back.

But, if he does skip out and heads to the camp I'll just tell them that Jack the Knife sent me in his place.

Damnit. I go to sleep and I die? LOL

Yes, JTK definitely wishes to go to the village.
After vanquishing the bandit presence and reclaiming a small fortune worth of gold, the Black Brigade set off temporarily in different paths.

With the threat vanquished, Xirdneh made haste to the abandoned bandit camp. To his dismay, there wasn't much there in the way of pure treasure. However, he did find dozens of items that might be useful to him in combat.

There were multiple weapons, but the only one suited for a Warrior was the Longsword. He grabbed it and tucked it away. Next he found two items that expanded his inventory: a backpack and a potion belt. For now, the Longsword entered his main inventory because he only has 1 weapon slot.

He noticed a basic helm nearby, which would help protect his head from enemy strikes by increasing his armor by 1.

"Whew," he said, "nice loot, plus that 100 gold I got earlier, I should be set for awhile!

Jack the Knife returned to the Nogfolk village, bringing along the Mage Lewendor. They were greeted with great applause.

Jack the Knife introduced Lewendor to spot, the Nog he had rescued after being caught in a trap. Spot shook his hand,

"Welcome to our village." he said. "Jack, the reason I wanted you to come back, besides thanking you again, has to do with our collective consciousness, an ability we posses to transmit images to most of our species."

"We are an ugly folk, there's no doubt about that. Unfortunately many just assume that what is grotesque is also evil, as you see is not the case with us at all. Therefore, despite the fact that we are a friendly people, we sometimes have to take preemptive strikes against those that draw near to our villages. We know that they may be hostile towards us just because of our appearance."

"When I transmit your image, many of my people will process it internally. Then, they will know that you mean us no harm. It's our way of handling other peoples... we have a reputation system."

Drawing in a deep breath, Spot concentrated on Jack the Knife's face, and then on Lewendor.

Under "special information," Jack the Knife gained:

"Welcome among the Nog: Nogfolk will never attack this character."

Under "special information," Lewendor gained:

"Recognized by the Nog: Nogfolk less likely to attack this character."

"Oh, and one more thing," Spot added, "if you are looking for work, talk to our chieftain, Scout. He has something lined up."

[Jack has gained access to a team quest. Since most quests are team duels, team quests are highly useful. They provide a way for the entire team to gain experience and valuables outside of team combat.]

The Ringmaster was excited to learn of the Brigade's success in squashing the pesky bandits.

"Well done my lads, well done!" exclaimed the Ringmaster.

"For completing this quest, I will provide you each with special training to unlock an ability."

1. For successfully avoiding combat, Lewendor has gained "Dodge: 10%"

2. For dealing damage at a crucial time, Jack the Knife's base die roll has increased from 1d6+2 to 1d10+1

3. For dying twice during one quest, Xir has gained: "Just A Flesh Wound: 5% chance of full and complete resurrection upon death."

Since this was your first quest together as a team, the judge has seen fit to award the captain, Sielle with a 5.99 GOG! Sielle, contact me, let me know what you want...

I've added in all the information to your character sheets. You've all gained a level, too, so you will have access to new spells and skills. When it's time to gain a level, I will let you know.

Congratulations!
Oh nice! Team quest! Team quest!

Just so you know what I mean: this game was a team quest, because you were facing AI. Most of the games have been combat between two teams. So it basically lets you all unlock another level before you would have to face another team in a duel.

I'm all for another team quest, but I will be off line this weekend (out at the lake camping).

As for the GOG game, while I was the captain, I'd like it to still be a random choice as to which of us gets the game. It's only fair, as all three of us were all very active in PM's planning out our turns and setting up a basic strategy that I could use when someone was off line. :)

I need to head out shortly, but I'm going to look at the rules for leveling up and go from there. It was a lot of fun though. :)

If possible, we could do the team quest that JTK unlocked while you're away. I should be able to captain this if need be since I am almost always on the forums. Just give me your basic strategy, Sielle, and I can do the moves for you, if you so desire.

I, too, liked this game. I found it a lot of fun and it felt almost like a pen & paper campaign for me, without having to haul around bags o' dice :P.

Stoicsentry:

If I chose another path instead of remaining a pure Rogue, say Spy or something, do I still get access to my Rogue skills? Can't recall seeing that. Also, do we get to pick earlier level skills at level up or are those lost forever? Thanks in advance.

From what I read, all the special classes get the level 1 skills. So you never lose those.

Yes. When picking a subclass, you have access to: all the level 1 skills/spells of your original class, plus all NEW skills/spells of your new subclass. You always retain access to all the level 1 spells of your original class, whether you pick a subclass or not.

Yes. You can pick level 1 skills/spells when gaining levels. They "cost" less of your experience than higher level skills/spells cost.

If you have permission from Sielle, you can do the new quest while he is away with his character. Or, since he was planning on grouping up with the "Cobra Division", we can recruit a new member for your team and move him over to that team - however you want to play it.

Sielle: given your recommendations, I used random.org to pick a random winner from you for the GOG and that winner was JudasIscariot. So Judas, if you would like to claim the 5.99 GOG, just let me know what you want! Congrats!
