what i dont understand call me stupid if it is. People here say if its needs a controller then it must be played on the console but everybody forgets that the ps 3 and xbox 360 are technaly old consoles if you got a pc from that age you wouldnt be able to play games from todays standard ok graphics are good on console but nowhere near as good as a pc from today and about controllers I still think it depends on the genre kind of games. Diablo 3 i will buy the pc version because i lrather play that with a mouse if its like 2 that is.

StingingVelvet: If you're a PC gamer though why not buy "console games" for the PC and use a controller with them in order to enjoy better graphics and framerates? Or to be able to tweak the experience even outside of mods (for example turning off blur)?
I am just a gamer, I don't claim any real affiliation with either consoles or PCs at this point. Some games I don't care about modding, but I want to play from my couch on my 46-inch LED-TV. Such was the case with Mass Effect 2 and Assassin's Creed. Some games I like to keep active notes on and have modding capability. Such was the case with Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas. Basically, if I am sitting at my desk, I probably want to use a keyboard and mouse, but if I am in front of my TV on the couch, I want to use a gamepad.

Delixe: Yes, Razer Onza for example.
It was a joke... joypad... adult kind of joypad. :D

But never mind that, I might get one next year.

Delixe: The game was designed to be played with KB&M. That's why the console versions were awful.
Still not sure how that invalidates my point. I was pointing out that some games are better with a keyboard and mouse that a gamepad. I don't care about the reason, only the conclusion. I am an Existentialist, after all :P.

This. I agree totally. For some games graphics just don't matter as much to me. I am not picky about graphics, actually, even though my current system can turn all games up to 11. I only really notice a difference between the PS3 and the PC when someone actually points stuff out to me. I do see the difference, but it usually doesn't matter to me much.

It invalidates your point as I said. DA:O - PC, DA2 - Consoles. Oh and you are and ist are you. Well thank fuck you didnt say OCD.

It doesn't matter what platform a game was made for, only that it was released with support for both options so it can be compared. The same way you used Diablo 2 as an example. Same thing. That game was programmed with a keyboard and mouse in mind from the outset. You can't pick and choose only those games that support your point, that is intellectual dishonesty.

Basically, I don't care about the example, as long as you concede that there are some modern games that exist that provide a better experience when played with a mouse and keyboard rather than a gamepad. I admit there are some (many) modern games that are superior when played with a gamepad, so how about you just meet me halfway and we can end this silly tiff?

Also, I am OCD. Bigtime. Didn't the symmetry thing with the gamepads tip you off? Hehe.

Absofuckinglutely. I play Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas with KB&M. But yeah I also play Alpha Protocol with a pad. Thats what buying an Xbox pad does, it gives you options.

That was a snide comment to others. You know who. The chaps who destroy this forum because they have OCD.

I can't disagree with you there. Just because I haven't needed the extra option yet, doesn't mean I won't in the future. I suppose I could have used the option when I played Assassin's Creed on the PC, but I honestly didn't think of it.

Oh, it went right over my head. I could probably guess who you are talking about, though.

I think gamer is way to broad a term to describe anyone really... lol. Still, I see what you mean. I never really cared about using the couch. Actually I prefer to be tucked away in my office area without interruption. Also my monitor is bigger than my TV because of how close I sit to it.

Anyway, obviously everyone has different priorities.
The PC download of DS3 at Amazon.com is $39.99 (Steamworks)

Coelocanth: But if you're going to release a game on a platform that's primarily controlled by KB&M, then for the love of the gods, make decent KB&M controls for it as well. See what I'm saying?
avatar
Delixe: That makes no sense. What about Street Fighter IV? Are you seriously going to tell me you want to play that on a keyboard? I would rather use a joypad than do without console ports thank you.
Even though I generally prefer controllers I think a fighting game could work well with a keyboard. That way instead of having to press up, down, left, z, x, d, up, etc to do moves I can just press a single key for special moves. There are tons of characters on a keyboard which could be used for them.
Dungeon Siege 3 plays smoother, has a better linked storyline and the game world movement flows better than Dragon Age 2....

I am super happy to play it on PC with a 360 controller... as ive tried it on the ps3 as well the slowdowns in an intense fight i cant handle... so i go PC with controller and im very pleased with the end result.

This was a great decision and im happier with this game then most in the ARPG realm right now... Torhlight 2 and Grim Dawn are all im waiting on now ^_^

D3 is a given because im a sucker.... but you know....

Dialbo 3 may actually be very good.Look at whose working on it-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Boyarsky my secret hope is that Diablo 3 ends up not being a dungeon crawler at all and ends up being some huge Arcanum or Fallout style game.... But I highly doubt that will happen oh well... It would piss a lot of people off but it may make Diablo 3 worth looking into for me.

I didn't find the controls in DS3's demo to be awkward at all with a mouse and keyboard. It wasn't much different from DS2's control scheme from what I remember. The voice acting in it was exponentially better than any other game Chris Taylor has put out at GPG, and yes I know CT had virtually nothing to do with this one.

All in all I'm fiending for this game but lack the funds to buy it currently. I am getting a bonus soon... But I have plans to go head to the coast which are sort of more important than a computer game I'll be able to get for at most half the current price by Thanksgiving.

Make no mistake, this game isn't for everyone. For my tastes, the demo has shown me the finished product will surpass my expectations.

And yes, it is very consolized, I'll admit. But that doesn't make it a bad game ;)

I'm too lazy to hook up my PC to my big screen.

Because it'd require a 10 foot DVI cable and a switch I don't want to buy.
