Hey guys i am gonna be starting this thing called Extreme Computer Makeover, It is basically gonna be a contest, so people with the WORST computers currently extremely slow annoying computers post the computer picture with ur name on a piece of paper and it should also say gog
And 1 lucky guy will win a new computer thats pretty good
Also since i am doing this privately,
All donations are welcome at my paypal (rooshandark8@yahoo.com)
So start posting your crappy pcs/ laptops with the specs and the problems.
Computer:
Victor V386SX (year: 1989)

Problem:
Main battery completely dead and the machine loses CMOS settings when being shut down. I can't figure out where the CMOS battery sits, if there even should be one, and getting a new main battery isn't too easy any more.

Of course, I can use my 1994 Macintosh Performa 475 instead, that one works beautifully and even has ethernet added-in. Doesn't play DOS games though.

I would like to upgrade to a Power Mac 9600. Even a Quadra 840 would be appreciated.

Excuse me, the model is apparently V386PX, not SX. Yes it has been opened but not resealed yet, except the batteries it works great (due to losing its CMOS settings it can't boot off the harddrive so I have to use a floppy).

Also, just to make it clear, I am really in no need of a new computer. Among my 9 working machines is an Athlon II X2 with a 1GB Radeon 5750 and 8 GB RAM... I think it'll do for now.

I know, it was meant as a joke :-)
Those machines wouldn't be able to post on GOG.
Does my Acer Travelmate count? The one with an AMD Turion 64 x2 CPU running at 1.9 GHz (supposedly), ATI Radeon Xpress 1250, 2.5GB of DDR2 Ram(though the sticker say 1), and a 120 GB Harddrive, partitioned into two drives of 51GB each? I just want a nice gaming laptop :(

It's a total crapshoot as to which games it can run. Blood from GOG, no matter how much I tweak it, runs poorly. Mount and Blade: Warband, if I turn everything down as low as it can go, will run surprisingly decent. Prince of Persia: The Sands of TIme? Everything turned down as low as it can go, runs insanely slow and choppy. Basically, if the game is any later than 2002, I need to check it out and see if it will run, requiring a download of a demo, if there is one available. Supposedly Call of Duty 4 would run on my computer, so I bought it and installed it. I turned the graphics as low as they would go and it would run at a stunning 5 FPS, all the while looking like a Quake mod.
does a laptop with win 95 count?
screenbacklight is broken , but is still works :)

picture and is this your only computer.
My computer case looks like shit, but its insides are still quite good.
Looks can be deceiving.
My only PC is a desktop with an Intel Pentium 4 processor with integrated graphics and 1 gig of ram. On vista. Yes I am running Vista with 1 gig of RAM. The inside is pretty gross too. Like to the point where I don't even want to open the cover. Got some compressed air but I still haven't gotten around to cleaning it out. Oh and the fans are loud. Like super annoyingly loud.

I believe one goes with the other. Seriously. Get in there and clean like you've never cleaned before. Get the fan off of the CPU and clean that sucker inside out. Dust gets everywhere and limits air circulation, which is the main reason for overheating and full on fan action.
Does a laptop count? Because right now all I got is a crappy Toshiba notebook, with a 1.6 ghz processor, 496 mb ram, and an integrated graphics card. I'd love to be able to play pc games made after 2003.

I can get pictures later today.

It won't last long either. If he uses the can smartly, the whole process can be done under 10 minutes. Put on your music of choice on your MP3 player or in the background, and the minutes pass by without you realising. TV/film also does the job well.
Oh, I completely forgot about the flash games. My computer can't run flash games without them slowing to a crawl. This isn't a problem with the internet, as the main computer can run them just fine, I just don't think my computer is able to handle flash games.
