GameRager: As for the overheating(which is my guess as to why the pc shuts down and can't be started for a bit afterwards until it cools down/etc).....you could fix that by opening up the laptop itself and dusting the whole thing out...including the various internal fans and heatsinks.

The sound could be due to a failing sound chipset or card inside the case, or failing speakers. Have you tried plugging mini laptop external speakers into the laptop's headphone jack to see if the speakers are the problem?
heh, I wouldn't open this thing if you paid me. It's likely I'd make it worse.
I haven't tried that with the sound but I don't think it's the speakers. When they don't work, there's a red X on the sound icon which tells me it's something on the inside, but also something to do with the hardware since a system restore didn't really do anything. I dunno man.

I purposely bought a poor computer to be able to play Windows 98 games on, since some of them don't like newer operating systems and graphics cards. So here it is in all it's glory (I had a major headache to a motherboard with Win98 drivers these days!)

Processor: AMD Sempron 3000 1.8 GHz 128kb cache
Motherboard: MSI K8MM3-V Socket 754
Memory: 512Mb 400MHz DDR2
Hard Drive: 80Gb IDE
Graphics: Onboard ViaChrome

Needless to say, the thing flies as it's wildly over-spec for any Win98 game :)
Just to emphasise, this is my "legacy" PC, I also have a nice Phenom x4 with 6Gb RAM for my programming and gaming needs :D

Well then I am gonna try to set up a paypal and get pricing for the package from my local post office...then i'll email/PM you with the relevant infos and such and after I get paymeny for shipping i'll ship....sound good?

Also, we can negotiate which shipping options you want as well...rush vs normal mail....etc etc.

i'M TRYING TO CALCULATE COSTS VIA ups BUT IT NEEDS A POSTCODE and town for where to ship to...even just to calculate costs, Send me a PM with your town postcode etc and ill then tell you what it might cost.

Also it asks for customs value so I just used an average listing price for a similar card online so I hope that's what i'm supposed to put(it says it's used to determine import duties and such.).

Check your PMs...it seems it would cost too much to ship......GAH at worldwide shipping costs....105-110 bucks for UPS OR FedEx. :\
