Moving out of the GOG forums completely would be silly.
I think it should stay here.
If nothing else, it's good advertising.
I'd never heard of the game until I saw the game 1 thread.

Also, think how many "When is this game coming" or "xyems give away" or whatever themed threads we get.
Maybe Gog could make a roleplay subforum and put all the RP threads(Warhammer, D&D, Mafia, etc.) in it?
I dunno about moving the games entirely, but a subforum would be nice. Especially if we could get some proper timestamps (although that would likely be part of a overall forum overhaul). But I like GoG, and the games are a good way to grow the community.
True, staying on GOG, no matter how much some of us lurk in the rest of the forum, is likely to bring in more new blood than moving to didimatic would. While the forum software here is not the best, it's should still be capable of building up a sizeable enough player base in time.

another +1 for staying on GOG. If you're involved, its easy to track with the favourite topic tag, and it does generate interest among people who might not have been involved / seen the game before - i know i hadn't until I saw it on here.

A sub-forum would be nice - i guess as GOG progresses as a site as a whole there may be a splitting of the forum.

Apart from the silly post merge and lack of timestamp, the forum software isn't too bad, IMHo opinion. Clearly set out and quite clean
I am also against moving out. In fact, now I think about it even a subforum is a bad idea (because we'd be less likely to get new players).

The one thing I'd like is the removal of the post merge or perhaps dropping the time delay from ~10 minutes (I think) to 2 minutes. 2 minutes should still be enough to stop spammers.

How hard would it be for them to find or be directed to a forum right next door to this one?

Some people, myself included, are incredibly lazy. If all the mafia stuff was tidied away into a subforum people would be a lot less likely to stumble upon it than seeing an obviously active thread in general chat.

People should browse more then and not be as lazy. ;)

It'd be like asking all the newspaper section s to be combined into one because someone doesn't like having to sort through them to find the section they want, which adds the result of having to wade through one big section to find what one wants.

The people I'm talking about are completely unfamiliar with mafia and don't even know it exists though. They don't know that they want that section of the newspaper, nor do they know it exists. I'm just saying, we are more likely to get new players where we are than in a subforum.

I meant a general roleplay subforum, marked and described as such.....maybe with a link at the top of general. This way they'd see "Roleplaying Forum" in big letters/etc at the top of the page and know where to go.
Yeah, except Mafia isn't an RP game, as a lot of the firsttimers have found out when they get lynched on Day 1 for suspicious behaviour... :P

My opinion is that I'd rather have the GOG guys working on getting us new games than working to suit a fairly smanll portion of the community.
I would imagine that they would consider Mafia nothing to do with them, so why should they bother.

With the amount of actual work they put into the forums i'm sure they must have plenty of spare time.
