We're not going absolutely anywhere at the moment, so I'm going to take the unusual step of RoleClaiming.

As to why, my role explains it - I'm Mock Turtle, the Town Miller.

whenever a Cop investigates a Miller, the Moderator returns a guilty result, even though the Miller is pro-Town.

Which tells us two things - we have a cop (otherwise my Miller role would be pointless), and I'll get guilty result if investigated.

Make of it what you will - but ask yourself this if you were in my shoes. Whats the safest way to possibly stop a mis-lynch on myself?? Claim early. Which is what I've done.

Hopefully we can now get down to some meaningful discussions.....;o)

Rodzaju - think about it. Would I really be that obvious if I was Mafia? Do you really think I would come out on Day 1 and tell everyone I am going to turn up guilty if investigated, if I was Mafia??? Surely I would be much better off keeping quiet!

No self respecting Mafia would do it. What any Mafia would do is immediately jump on any Townie that DID come out and say it...

Well, let us consider the converse. As a pro-town role, you've just revealed for certain that one of the (admittedly more common) power roles is in play, and that you have no explicit power yourself. How exactly was this supposed to help the town as a whole? All it helps is you personally to survive.

I originally considered throwing a votecount in now, to assure everyone that Popinjay's vote doesn't count, but then I realised it would be identical to the previous one. So you don't get anything at all. Go ahead and complain.

I did consider this before claiming, and you are right it does reveal the presence of a Town power role. But as its such a common one and is present in most if not all Mafia games I saw the risk to Town as negligible, whereas the plus side of it was worth it - and not just to me , to Town as well. If I was investigated before claiming, its an instant lynch. This is the only logical defence I have against being given such a bum role.

I have to play the game to the best of my ability - this IS the only and best defence I have.

Clearly he'll turn up anti-town, though, whether or not it's due to being actual mafia or being a miller is the question. The real question is why would he claim when there was absolutely no real suspicion on him?
