On a more political note: I remember a time when politician's had a vision they sought votes for, with the gusto to stand for the vision they had, instead of them being accountants trying to balance the state's paycheck while seeking vote's by voicing what's popular with the media.

And I remember media that weren't ruled by the need for viewing numbers and ruled by hypes and ruled by the need to please advertisers. When good programs were still being made. I remember a time I was willing to pay for TV, a time before I quit my subscription out of nausea and boredom with the mass-consumption 'reality' media-food that's offered.

Reminds me of the joy of seeing the game Pengo (Pacman with pinguins) in RGB-color when my father did away with the black and white monitor in his study and plugged the BBC Acorn onto a color monitor. Suddenly the pinguins were yellow, cyan, magenta etc. instead of different shades of grey. There was only about 8 shades of color though, if I remember well.

I was quite surprised when I saw Zima still being sold in Japan. Some bars even have Zima neon-signs. But I haven't seen it since the 90s in the US.

I only found out about the Vectrex once I was older due to emulators. But my family had an Intellivision and my cousin had a Coleco.

Was listening to disc 2 of Garage Inc. last night. Love the Garage Days Re-revisted section. I own the original on cassette.
One of my favorite movies as a kid. The remake didn't even come close to the quality of the original. Another favorite: Beastmaster.

All events that were quite mediatised or had quite an impact around me. But personalities that have "always been dead" for the youngest people nowadays. It goes without saying that I reacted differently to each one of them, as some of them I admired and respected much much more than the others... But still, they were all memorable events.

Also : the Challenger shuttle disaster.

Heck, even the first Columbia launch. Space shuttles !! Woah.

In order to make your homework you actually needed to read physical books and make long researches on libraries or buy magazines to know latest facts in several topics that newspapers or tv barely inform.

Oh yeah! Gregg Rolie is a much better vocalist than anyone gave him credit for. :)
