Oh, and Pet Rocks.

OMG I'll NEVER forget the reaction of my father when he first saw those ! !! ! Priceless.
The change in decades can make you feel your age. The children of the 70's are reaching their 40's, the children of the 80's reaching their 30's and the children of the 90's reaching their 20's. In 2020 move it all up by 10 with the children of the 2000's reaching their 20s (scary thought).

Brings this song to mind

An even scarier thought... those millennials who grew up playing Call of Duty and Angry Birds, those kids who go berserk when the PSN or Netflix goes down for 10 minutes, those kids who go into epileptic fits because a hot pocket takes longer than 2 minutes to cook in a microwave... they will be lawyers, politicians, bank tellers, and circus clowns.

I don't weep for the future... I'm arming for it. It's going to be S-P-A-C-E-M-A-D-N-E-S-S.

OldFatGuy: 8-Track Tapes
Hippies
"It's 10PM, Do You Know Where Your Children Are?"
Vietnam
"I am not a crook"
"It's not illegal if the President does it" (which we seem to have come full circle on again)
Disco

Yeah, I'm old.
I ate not one, not two, but three copies of my mother's Janice Joplin 8 track. Apparently she was particularly delicious.
Watching men walking on the moon live on a black and white television.

78 RPM records.

Making an oral presentation in class about computers and having the class laugh at the idea that one day most people would have one.

Gi-Joe taller than Barbie.

I think just remember a B&W TV or even just having one that only had 5 channels qualifies a person as relatively ancient.
When i was borne, my parents owned one of these cars:

And probably only just missed out on being one of these:

Emob78: I'll be 36 in April, so I'm just ahead of ya', Crow.

The 80s were awesome. I'll add a few more.

Mad Balls

G.I. Joe

Gremlins

The Wendy's lady - "Where's the beef?!" It got old quick, though.

Ghostbusters - RIP, Egon.

M.A.S.K. - it was Transformers meets G.I.Joe. Great toys.

Miami Vice - I was glued to the tv every Friday night for the adventures of Crockett and Tubbs.

Saturday morning cartoons - the 90s took the joy away. Never again would there be a good reason for waking up at 7 AM on Saturday.

Neon colors - I wasn't a big fan, but it was definitely 80s.

And I'll one more that most people probably don't know about...

Air Raiders. It was a Hasbro line in the late 80s that its own toys and comic book series. Didn't take off and was abandoned shortly after launch. Fun toys, though. I had a few of them. The weapons on the vehicles would use compressed air to blast the enemy.
I'll be 36 on March 24th, you young whippersnapper ;) Very very YOUNG indeed, right?
