I just checked out Thief 2 and noticed XP wasn't listed under "compatible with." If this is their new policy then I sure won't be buying any more games here.
Probably forgot to put it in. It works on XP.

Also, get Windows 7.
Says the same for Thief Gold and it works just fine on my XP.

Maybe they're tired of putting it there, because everything works on XP.

Gooberslot:
Probably a mistake. They made the same mistake on today's release initially (they've since fixed it).

Not even Microsoft itself supports XP anymore, GoG could as well start releasing games for win 98 with that mindset... That said, unless it's using DX10, it'll most probably run on XP as well.

They do. XP is supported until 2014 and only becomes officially obsolete in 2020.

Still, XP is obsolete and everybody has to stop using it.

Imagine if your dog died and you still took him for walks. That's what using XP today is like.

Seems to be for only the thiefs. Might be a glitch, or a compatibility issue, or a contractual obligation.

And please, try to find a reason to move away from XP. I might have been the most paranoid person out there regarding the move from XP to Win7-64bit, but it went far better than expected.

All games that support XP will continue to work on XP. I think the Thief 2 was just a simple oversight. Have you tried filing a support case with GOG? That's the best way to get attention. They really don't have time to spend in the forums.

Really? I thought they have dropped support altogether, but they DID stop selling it, right? Right?

Easy to move away from XP, when your PC isn't a total shithead. Which mine is.

Actually, they do, especially TheEnigmaticT and especially in the General Discussion, but it's still better to send a support ticket their way.

Windows 7 is superior in every aspect.

Especially if you have a 64 bit system. I was very reluctant at first, but once I made the move, I haven't regretted in for a second.

I believe they still issue licenses for it. You'd probably have a hard time finding a copy, though.

Begging my pardon, didn't mean to imply that would be implicitly your fault. Just that when you find the means, you should invest in a modern operating system. The encouragement was aimed mostly towards the change-fearful, where I was firmly parked not half a year ago.

Imagine asking small baby to take a walk outside with big wolfhound. The result could be similar to installation of Win 7 on my anciently specced PC.
