Fight your way through time or you’re history!

Play a fantastic action-adventure title with a unforgettable plot with today's release of [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/time_commando]Time Commando for only $5.99! An advanced virus has infiltrated a top secret military research facility's supercomputer. The computer can simulate any combat from any period throughout history, but it's such a powerful computer that the virus has created a vortex that threatens to tear a hole in the very fabric of time. Your job is to suit up, travel through time, and prevent the virus from destroying the universe. A good antivirus program could have prevented this threat to the universe, but now that the virus is assaulting the fabric of reality, it has all come down to you.

You are Stanley Opar, a member of S.A.V.E (Special Action for Virus Elimination), an organization that was created to clear the system of the virus. You must travel through many of the historical eras that the supercomputer simulates while using a wide array of weapons (from stones to samurai swords, slings to laser rifles, and a killer yo-yo) to fight through time and collect data bits scattered over the various worlds to repair the damage done.

Time Commando is an action adventure with a little bit of puzzles here and there. Graphically the game was very advanced for the 1990s with beautifully rendered 2D backgrounds coupled with the vivid 3D animated characters. The control scheme takes the best elements out of the Alone in the Dark series and improves upon them.

Grab yourself some action-adventure brawling action for only $5.99!

I don't know... It looks interesting, but the overall gameplay doesn't appeal to me. Perhaps it looks too linear and the point of view isn't to my liking. Anyway I'll wait until this game gets sufficient feedback.
I played this game.I can assure you it's worth the money.a very underrated gem and is wishlisted
This isn't for me, but thanks anyway
Never heard of this, wishlisted for now, seems interesting enough.

grviper: That bad?
I was thinking the same thing. Well at least they are not trying to raise our expectations.

Navagon: Take a look at the US cover of Amnesia to see how bad it can get.
Am I the only one who thinks "doesn't matter, had sex" when you see that cover ;-P? God, taht is but ugly.

And check out those badass Time Commando covers (all regions had the same) on mobygames. That is how this game feels, not like some retard version of bejeweld, as the current one suggests...
OMG i have been looking for this game for so many years! i used to play it when i was in primary school and loved it. Downloading right now, hopefully time hasn't killed it.
the name does ring a bell but I've never seen this game "in action"... seems interesting though.
Hey, I recognize that part with panther (?leopard)..but I remember it somehow less pixelized...Well I think it is common memory flaw in this community :-D

Most definitely. :P I grew up with 640 x 480, maybe a little 320 x 240 and some 800 x 600.

My main gripe with that is that one of the scariest enemies is shown on the cover, taking away some of the shock element when you come across him.

Uh...this is the exciting new release? I admit, I was a console kid, but I haven't even heard this one mentioned, ever. Not even in passing on the forums here.

I'll pass, thanks, Christmas stuffed my backlog.
It's funny how we remember old games. And then when we try them again we often say "damn, that's ugly!"

Just like with ex-girlfriends.

btw. I expected something bigger for new year's release, but this game looks ok.

Fuck me, I remember this game. Back when I was a wee little fellow in year 1, my best friend was obsessed with this game. It'll be good to see what all the fuss was about when I get around to snagging me a copy.
Naah, TC... Hoped for Ignition.
so, by the looks of it, is this only a "kick-sabretooth-tiger-in-the-face" game or are there any rpg/adventure elements? from the videos I've seen it looks kind of like Contra in 3D without guns :o)
