Fight your way through time or you’re history!

Play a fantastic action-adventure title with a unforgettable plot with today's release of [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/time_commando]Time Commando for only $5.99! An advanced virus has infiltrated a top secret military research facility's supercomputer. The computer can simulate any combat from any period throughout history, but it's such a powerful computer that the virus has created a vortex that threatens to tear a hole in the very fabric of time. Your job is to suit up, travel through time, and prevent the virus from destroying the universe. A good antivirus program could have prevented this threat to the universe, but now that the virus is assaulting the fabric of reality, it has all come down to you.

You are Stanley Opar, a member of S.A.V.E (Special Action for Virus Elimination), an organization that was created to clear the system of the virus. You must travel through many of the historical eras that the supercomputer simulates while using a wide array of weapons (from stones to samurai swords, slings to laser rifles, and a killer yo-yo) to fight through time and collect data bits scattered over the various worlds to repair the damage done.

Time Commando is an action adventure with a little bit of puzzles here and there. Graphically the game was very advanced for the 1990s with beautifully rendered 2D backgrounds coupled with the vivid 3D animated characters. The control scheme takes the best elements out of the Alone in the Dark series and improves upon them.

Grab yourself some action-adventure brawling action for only $5.99!

Zjeraar: Thanks GOG! This thread can now be closed.
Edit your OP post in that thread to show you found the answer then, in case anyone reads that thread later on. :)
Woah, this game was totally awesome when I was a kid (as was almost anything with the word commando in it). I think I may have had a demo of this on my pc, if such thing of it exists. But anyways I most remember it when I was visiting relatives in Sweden. They rented a PS1 for me and I got to choose couple of games with it and I definately remember wanting this game. I played it to death literally, cos it would always crash in one of the levels at the same scene. So I sadly never got to finish it.

I'm not sure if I still would like this game now tho, so just wishlisted for now. I will have to give it a chance one day... and to myself so I can finally finish it!
OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD

Thank you GOG!

I just got trampled by my childhood driving a monster truck!
Sooo...is this GOG release the DOS or Windows version?
What is everybody complaining about? It's a cult classic game by the creators of Little Big Adventure. Definitely am gonna get it once my wallet has regrown after the last sales (my first GOG + Steam Christmas - a financial disaster!).
Thank you GoG! I have been wanting to replay, and finally finish, this game that I remember so fondly from my childhood.
Great release! I've played and finished this one back in the day....it's not the greatest game ever, but it's fun (until that friggin' last stage, that is). Wishlisted!

What are you talking about? Everybody isn't complaining. Some people don't want it because they don't think it's that great of a release. Not hard to figure out. I personally don't care if it's a "cult classic", because that term can be liberally tossed around anywhere really

I think he meant the ones going "meh" or "Not such a great release", etc. ;)

You're actually right. Incidentally the first three comments I read were pretty much the only negative ones so I thought that almost all of them are like this. And you're kinda right about the cult classic thing although personally I've mostly encountered this term in connection with stuff that actually IS good despite a lack of commercial success (on GOG there's a lot of this stuff, if you ask me) so I can't say that it can be tossed around anywhere. :P

You might even say this game jumped the shark at that point.

*Rimshot*

Seriously, though, this game is pretty awesome, and one I actually spent quite some time playing.

Great release.
I, like many other people fall into the "Never heard of it" Category

But that's a good thing! I always love discovering "New" games that I never heard of on GOG, and this game looks pretty cool

Wishlisted

also: the person in the art is hilarious, it looks like he's either singing a love sonata or proposing to his fiancée
Oh, I remember this game. It is one of my uncle's game collection later he gave me, but I actually never play it because at that time I did not know English and was not interested in English game.
