Say hello to XIII - probably the most unique FPS of all time. Definitely one of the best. Discover it, play it and perhaps shed a tear at the lack of a sequel.

XIII is a first-person shooter based on the first five volumes of a popular Belgian comic book series. You're put in the shoes of XIII, badly wounded and with no recollection of your past. The American president has been assassinated and all of a sudden everyone's out to get you. Are you the assassin? Were you framed? Whoever you are, you must be damn important and you won't let anyone stop you from reclaiming your identity.
What makes XIII special is its comic book-style design. The characters and weapons are cel-shaded, outlines and all, and there's a whole bunch of stylish features, like visualized sound effects. Imagine shooting a gun and seeing "BLAM!" right next to the muzzle flash. Just how cool is that?
Finally, a great, involving storyline, a perfect musical score, and top-notch voice acting by such actors as David Duchovny and Adam West make XIII an absolutely epic game.

touche I suppose

Though to be honest I stopped doing that some time ago and only post reviews made by me now :)
I love this game. Instabuy for me just to be rid of the horrid DRM. Not even David "Woody" Duchovney's bored voice over can spoil this gem.

Oh c'mon, he's just pure awesome in "Californication" ;D

what kind of DRM did this game have exactly?

Wasn't too familiar with the PC version back then, only played the console versions...

TAGES with no revoke tool. On top of that it was never updated so it was a bugger to even install on Vista/7.

At least he apologized for his English. Still, yeah, this review is entirely useless. We don't even know if the game runs fine on his machine, only that he bought it. It actually raises more questions than it answers. Some may be left wondering how he got 'bonus points' from CD Projekt. He also greets us at the end of the review, I suppose that's nice of him to do.

I can learn far more about the game by reading the description on the game page than I could ever glean from this review. That's a warning sign right there, this should never be true.

Don't want to demean the guy, writing a proper review in English without a good grasp of the language would be difficult, and writing in his own language would quickly be voted unhelpful since a majority of people here probably won't understand it, and therefore it wouldn't be helpful, simple as that.

However, this isn't a review. He's just posting that he's happy to have been able to buy it here, something he could have done right here in this thread. No effort to review the game, I don't know why he bothered. He could have played it and actually tried to put some effort into writing a review. Instead, he just bought it and immediately felt the need to post something, anything, in the reviews. I don't get it, honestly. :|

True but he still can't get out of smug mode.
Oooohh!!! Such a great game!!
Glorious. I stopped playing this game several years ago, due to a part I kept mucking up. It happened to be between a CD swap, which made it extremely rage-inducing. Haven't gotten it to run properly on Win7, and since this has no CD swapping, this is awesome.
Wishlisted - I will definitely be owning this in near future.
Looks good, very good...
I lost my GC version after getting to the snow level. This rules!

I saw an interview with him in and it was like he was doped up to the eyeballs and 90% unconscious. As hard as it is to believe he really is that boring. How the hell he got a break in the industry I'll never know.
This is a much better release than the interminable Rayman game.
However, as good as this game is, I think my original retail copy still works from the CD on XP.
This is excellent if you don't already own it of course. Nice one GOG.
