michaelleung: UPDATE: Valve, not wanting to deprive a nation of its zombie killing goryness, has appealed.

That's not going to work. A far more logical and well thought out approach would be to unleash a real zombie plague on Australia. It shouldn't be too difficult. Just send over Hillary Clinton for a week long visit.
Once the plague of undeath begins to spread the government will be forced to see L4D2 as the well-meaning zombie murder simulator it truly is, and utilise it to train the masses in zombie combat.

Hmm, good heads we get it, bad heads we don't.
Who knew the OFLC was run by Two Face?
UPDATE #2: Since it's turning into a bashing of stupid Australian laws and the people that pass them, I might as well add this. A guy who really doesn't get the whole games thing refuses to support having a 18+ age for games, meaning adults won't get to play violent games anyway.
"It certainly does restrict choice to a small degree, but that is the price of keeping this material from children and vulnerable adults. In my view, the small sacrifice is worth it," Mr Atkinson said.

VULNERABLE ADULTS! What gives him the right to restrict games (which apparently bad because they're INTERACTIVE... OH NOES!) to adults who are old enough to vote, smoke, drink, drive, and do crazy shit? You don't ban people from doing things just because YOU think it's immoral! Let people use their common sense to see if they want to play a certain game or not for a change.
How far backwads is this country going to go in terms of common sense and "morailty" before people realize they need to riot?

The law has a stupid requirement for a unanimous vote which gives any fuckwit with an agenda excessive disruptive power.
As an Australian, I apologise.
As a South Australian, I apologise.
Soon, everything will be padded soft and G rated in this country :X

Don't apologize, it sounds like your country might have a more "sex is acceptable" policy over violence.
Because you can make beautiful love to someone and have it be legal.
Just a little. Give us time, well get around to controlling and censoring human sexuality too.
* My apology is because the guy causing the trouble is from my home state.
This has his contact details and I'm feeling like writing another letter on the issue.
He will probably just bin it, but it will make me happier.

I might give it another go, the last one at least made me feel like I'd tried

But you can't film it or buy it in any state in the country, only in the 2 territories (presumably there's a "In no state in australia" wording to some legislation)

Ha, vulnerable adults? I like AngryAussie's reasoning on that.
"You’re worried that some unbalanced individual will think the game is real and start killing their zombie neighbours? Some people think their fucking cat talks to them! Are you going to drown all the cats as well in case they cause a killing spree?"
BTW the video at the bottom of the blog post is not representative of his usual style, and the voice is done by another person.
