Not all four-letter words are 'four-letter words'. For example, casual discussion about the use of black & white 'Noir' graphics in games, the subject of how the mechanic of 'actual detective work' was wholly underutilised came up. I said 'Yeah, in The Saboteur, they make good use of the B&W graphics to set the mood, but it's all about WWII anti-Nazi rebels'. Or something to that effect. Anyway, the word 'Nazi' was replaced with all 'hearts'.

After the initial moment of disbelief, I came to the conclusion that Valve has decided it's a lot easier to completely censor a sensitive subject than to intervene in discussions where political party names are used derogatorily, as opposed to casual academic conversation.

tl;dr
In short, 'Lazy Bastards'.
That is really sad....and kind of funny. It's going to take me a while to figure out how they figured "hearts" was an acceptable replacement for "Nazi".
Does Valve even actually make games anymore?

On a related Note: I really liked the Saboteur, RIP Pandemic, any game that starts off with tits your face is bound to be entertaining at the very least
This is old news, actually. I know it was there several years ago when I sometimes went to that place. *shudders*
It will be an automatic thing on their forum where that word gets censored regardless of use. In your case it is not intentionally offensive at all, there may be a few people it could possibly upset though.

On the flip side of the coin though that word could have been used in a completely offensive way and would have also been blocked.

Unfortunately it is a catch 22 situation.

Look at the Wolfenstein games, they get censored in Germany and any Nazi / Swastika symbolism have to be removed by the devs before release is allowed.
It's real fun when you write a long post there and end up with a word in every second line hearted out or changed into something weird like hammer legions and members of that said legion of hammers.
Nazis never existed! Wipe it from your mind! Humanity is filled with loving, caring people who rise above the common animal.
Yeah, that occurs on the BioWare Social Network as well. It can actually be pretty amusing sometimes when the censor filters kick in on peoples' posts.
TR 4 was briefly banned in this country because of the evil skeletons that keep attacking Lara.
People claimed it was offensive to anorexics.

Is it an auto filter? If so, you can generally bypass 'em with clever use of ASCII. :3
Yeah, I always found all that censoring pretty ridiculous. Part of why I like the GOG foruns is the freedom they allow us to say whatever we want, funny thing is, I could probably count on one hand the amount of times I've seen someone curse here.

There is some censoring here... it is mainly a couple of words, that will magically exchanged with another word, that fits into the context :)
Well of course that's censored on those forums. A bunch of children are rarely going to be able to use such a word responsibly. FYI, they also censor fanboy, several racial slurs, several dodgy CD sites, swear words, and abbreviations that could have derogatory meanings. Which is standard fare for a lot of large forums. I sometimes wonder if people have been spoiled by the fact that GOG doesn't bother to large extent, yet.

The community changed the day "Ass" was censored into "Gluteus Maximus" in a topic title
