mondo84: Realms of the Haunting is one of the most underrated gems ever.

tinyE: You don't happen to know any good resolution tricks for it do you? I love it but I was always wondering if there was a way to make the graphics just a tad more crisp, realizing it's an old game of course.
Not sure if this helps, but give it a go:

Other than that, I don't know about any other way to better the graphics. Perhaps some Build Engine enhancer works with RotH as well? It's not likely, though.

To be honest, the graphics in RotH look pretty good to me, and a lot of people said they found them lacking at first but when they got immersed in the story and gameplay, graphics became completely secondary.
Any thoughts on Imperial Glory? Reviews are mixed.

It's a bit like Total War. Good game, though my memory might be biased by time...

Seems there is stuff for me here too :D. The Commandos games I always wanted to re-play. Constructor which I've never played... Praetorians is also looking good. Anything else?:)

If you don't already have it and enjoy a Gauntlet-esque shooter, Alien Breed is a good choice.

wvpr: The carrier does not move under your control,

Telika: What. WHAT ?

So it's, like, mission-based ? You don't roam around the archipelago, setting up defense/prooduction installations and strategically desiding what island to assault next ?

IS IT AS MUCH NON-CARRIERCOMMAND-y !!?

i feel betrayed.
It's mission-based, with each mission providing different challenges. Each island is large, resources are limited, and you have to explore carefully to determine where the enemy is weakest. Enemies can appear without warning. You're constantly jumping between units, the carrier, and the map. The focus is on direct control of individual units leading attacks and exploration while the AI chips manage the rest of your forces. There's already a lot to do, and moving the carrier around would be an unnecessary distraction.

The storyline and the emphasis on destroying increasingly entrenched enemies are suited to a linear mission flow. Once you're done with an island, there's no reason to return. And within each mission you have a great amount of freedom.

I have to skip that one. I kind of suck in action games and platformers. There are only a narrow few that I could really enjoy :D

Waugh! Realms of the Haunting and Alien Breed are really tempting but I'm in money-saving mode. Maybe next time!

phaolo: Ok, I know and I'm interested in these:
-Commandos 1 (owned)
-Commandos 2+3 --> famous sequels
-Worms United --> the classic original!
-Realms of the Haunting --> seemed a great FP adventure, but always crashed at first puzzle for me :|
-Alien Breed + Tower Assault --> it was damn hard classic arcade top-down alien shooter
-Incoming + Incoming Forces --> simple arcade FP shooter, mostly nostalgia

What do you know about these?
-Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising --> is it really a classic, as some say?
-Slipstream 5000 --> seems cool, how's the gameplay?
-Praetorians --> reviews say that the AI's difficulty is insane (almost unbeatable)
-Constructor --> nice but bad UI, too much micromanagement?
-Creatures1 --> creature simulation? Is it good? Is C2 better?
-Soulbringer --> small fov, poor pathfinding, bad ui, many empty spaces? :(
SoulBringer is an excellent RPG, despite many flaws,a must-buy . Creatures Exodus is the best of the series, but also the only one I ever played, so don't trust me entirely on that . Praetorians has a high level of difficulty, so if you don't like losing a lot, don't buy it .

Total War clone, and a good one too .

Hmm. Another weekend deal . I would choose :

Expendable
Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising
Incoming + Incoming Forces
I made up my mind and bought Hostile Waters and Realms of the Haunting.
I wanted to get Normality, Commandos and Constructor as well, but my responsible side finally won and made me realize that I've spent way too much during the luck of the Irish promotion...
Own everything except these 9:

Ultimate Body Blows
World Rally Fever: Born on the Road
Litil Divil
Expendable
Normality
Alien Breed + Tower Assault
Superfrog
Soulbringer
Mob Rule

That has been corrected.
