We know our little game with closing down the site made some of you angry. Once again we'd like to apologize to everyone who felt deceived by us closing down GOG.com without any warning and without giving you access to your games. We apologize for that from the bottom of our hearts, it was done with the best of intentions and hopefully we can make it up to you!
That being said we'd like to introduce to you the brand new GOG.com. After two years we're finally leaving the beta stage and moving forward to provide you even better service with your favorite PC classics. Leaving beta means lots of changes to the site itself, as well. A sleek new design makes it even easier to browse through the huge catalog, share one's passion for classic games via popular social media, get to know more about the classic games available and recommend favorite titles to other gamers. Among other changes, the team has introduced GOGmixes, which are, in short, user-created lists of games around one theme. Learn more about all the new features on GOG.com overview page.
But that's not all. What anniversary would it be without some neat presents? We're celebrating the second anniversary with one of the biggest announcements ever for fans of classic PC games - we're reviving Baldur’s Gate and other classic Hasbro-Licensed PC games which will be unveiled gradually in the coming weeks!

GOG, you disappointed me. You pulled this dirty trick, feigning a closing of the service, or a relaunch with DRMs, just for buzz.

I hate buzz.

With a passion.

Most of the times, "buzzed" things are worthless, just a marketing shell. I thought you'd have been clever enough to understand that what made you unique in the gaming world was precisely that you didn't buzz. You did the job. You delivered exactly what you announced. You were serious.

Not anymore, not to me at least. It has nothing to do with the fact that you temporarily closed your service, after all it didn't prevent me to play the games I bought here, because I already back up everything as a rule.

No, what upsets me is that you used the way of "buzz", of "wink wink at my double-entendre sentences" to create an expectation. Too bad its execution was so poorly done. To me, as a customer, it did more harm than good. I'll never read what you write the same way, I'll always think "is there a double meaning here?"

But I'm sure with the buzz and the coming of Baldur's Gate, your sales will explode, so you will be able to think that I'm a loser without humor. That might be true. That won't change the fact that your trick destroyed what was the most important to me in GOG : trust.

The wound will be long to heal.
Love'em or Hate'em, it's clearly a Labor of Love.

Did you forget the dozen pages we had discussing what "expect the unexcelled" means? :P
Glad GOG is back, but not anyway to treat your loyal members! We should get a promo code for 50% off a game of our choice!

Looking alright I suppose. Bad GoG, bad sense of humour! No din dins for worrying me like that for you! Now, show me the new games... :D
Hey, guys. The new site looks great, and the features are really cool. I must admit I was worried for you guys for a bit, but now that's all in the past.

I've been with this site since the invite-only beta, and I must say you really outdid yourselves this time. You guys have a very wily sense of humor, and that's why I keep coming back.

Thanks for two great years.
Please fire the PR guy .
I'll keep away from the "marketing yay/nay" discussion, so I'll just say...
It's good to be back here.
Please don't mind the people lacking a humour gland, they will get over it within days.

Your marketing ploy was brilliant and done well, glad to see you back!
Good to see you guys back!
Certainly I am glad you are back. One thing that has come out of this is the fact that what you guys are doing is actually quite hard. Obviously you guys put out hints here and there about what it's like to do what you do, and what it's like dealing with greedy publishers. So please, keep doing what you do, since it's clear you guys are passionate about it. Sadly, publishers greed is why we can't have nice things much quicker. :(

Yet, I hope the backlash and anger you have read around the internet about your all to sudden 'closure' has shown the need for an advertising budget. Since you profile has risen because of this stunt, and the sales figures will rise without a doubt, I hope you take the recommendation of an advertising budget seriously. I am going to remain a customer, since your service is one of a kind, but please in the future think a little better of your customers, no-one likes a sudden shock.

That aside, good to have you back, now have a HUGE sale!! ;)
All is forgiven, yo. Just don't do it aain. XD

Old Gogger signing off.
Ha ha, very funny :P

But all is forgiven, because you stayed true to the spirit of Good Old Games!

Welcome back and Congratulations! I really hope you keep on going better and stronger.

What are you talking about? One FREE game of choice for every member being with GOG the last years. - That would be a great deal... as the monks said: "Acts count more than words."

Alright, guys... you really know how to get publicity. I read a lot of posts in other forum saying... "uuh, never heard about gog... did I miss something" (or similar) - so you will get a lot of new customers, I guess.

So, keep on GOG-ing, you great guys!
