Grammar is the difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit.
That's the weakness of english, despite being right, this need context when spoken up. For instance, French doesn't use phrasal verbs and there is very little confusion possible, if punctuation is respected.

Anybody who can't figure out which is the intended sentence is either a non-native speaker or isn't paying attention. Proper grammar doesn't help you out here, unless your reading the sentence. When spoken those sentences are still identical.

You're point there is completely off base. The reason that proper grammer is important is that it's more efficient for the person reading or listening. In most cases folks won't even notice the grammar problems.
I've seen a few in English, but some of the most well known must be:

Stop clubbing, baby seals.
Stop clubbing baby seals.

Let's eat Dad.
Let's eat, Dad.

Ah, la vache!
Norwegian example, a little bit lost in translation.

Hang him not, wait until I come
Hang him, not wait until I come
Also, we had a funny one recently as I was teaching German grammar to a group. We were doing negatives - where you add the word "nicht" - and I asked if anyone knew what it was called in grammar. It's actually "verneinen", but someone said "vernichten", to which I couldn't stop laughing for an hour after the lesson ("vernichten" means to annihilate).

iippo: Ah, la vache!
Good example. Phonetically tricky, but practically unmistakable.
"off his horse", is that even grammatically correct? I would say "get off his horse".

Anyway, context is always needed and the reason people are against grammar is because they don't like rules that don't come naturally, that just means more work.

The reason people are against grammar is that it's bullshit. And that comes from somebody who makes his living because of those same rules.

A lot of the "rules" aren't rules at all. There's no reason why you can't split infinitives or dangle participles. Some constructs are used by damn near everybody despite being wrong for technical reasons.

And don't get me started with all the idiots that try and convince me that you can't use the word can't to express permission. Can't has been used in that fashion for centuries.

You have to admit that the OP deserves all the trolling that we can muster.

Not really, no.
He's very important, 'Cheers' would have sucked without him.
