Windows 8 Consumer Preview has officially been released. It is available freely, and you can download it using the above-mentioned link. It should work on any hardware that supports Windows 7. Upgrading from Windows 7 is very easy too.

That mouse and keyboard video had the exact opposite result they were going for. Now, I'm sure I won't migrate to Windows 8.

Downloading right now and going to throw it in a VHD and boot into that. Had the DP in a VM and all was good so now I want to try it straight on metal.

I was just at the library and could have downloaded Windows 8 :( Oh well, I'll just download it sometime next week since the servers are probably being flooded atm.

Personal opinion:

It's absolute trash.

It's like using a tablet OS minus the touch screen and on my desktop. And Metro looks like crap.

I'm pegging my normal bandwidth (actually it's faster than normal i'm getting over 1MB/s atm normally only get 3-400KB/s
