I'm quite happy with Win 8, no regrets here.

Lodium: Games for linux is a bit lacklusting when it comes to be able to run them
Steam's coming out for Linux and there's PlayOnLinux, which is very easy to install and supports quite a lot of games. So the 'games for Linux' problem just kind of resolves itself.

Oh, thanks for the link, i didnt know about that.
Just need to find a linux version thats easy to use now. Il probably just run two os on my pc until MS stops support for windows 7 though.
For those that aren't aware of it. Dual-booting is easy to set up if you just read a short guide about it. So you can have up to four different Operating Systems to choose from when your computer starts up.

Only four? I always thought that you can have way more. Also, most Linux distros offer a live version, which is great to try them out.

I've had 8 running side by side... the limit of 4 would be only if you couldn't boot from extended partitions.

Ah ok. I stand corrected :)
I once had the plan to install about a dozen operating systems (with xOSL, a brilliant little program), but stopped after the fifth. Other people have run up to 30 different systems with it. Multibooting is fun _and_ useful. :)

Multibooting, of course. It is not dual booting if you can boot more than two! I will now boot myself out of this thread.

Thanks, I know how to dual boot pre-Win 8, haven't read anything since installing it YET.

i don't know anything about dual-booting with Win 8 either. I just assumed that it would work as before. But there may be some new peculiarities you should be aware of.

When I had Win7 installed first, then installed Win8 as dual boot it replaced the boot menu with this fancy Win8 themed one, but if I set the default one back to 7 it changed it back to the dos looking one of Windows 7.
I'm actually thinking of dual booting with Vista, at least to start with.
