stoicsentry: Arkades has passed over the spikes. The area here is dimly lit and quiet. You feel relatively safe as you wait for your friends to join you.

OOC: Kemuel, Exile or Rohan may grab the handle to be escorted over the spiked floors.
OOC: Yay, I'm not dead!

Kemuel bounces on the balls of his feet, limbering up, and as the mechanism gets closer, he focuses on the rope and making sure he gets a firm grip on it.

In one quick, smooth movement he jumps up and grabs a hold.

Success! Kemuel passed the spikes with ease!

OOC: I'll roll for the rest of you to pass.

Rohan glides back across the spikes, holding tight to the rope, he flips to the ground.

Exile grabs the robe, and is ferried halfway through the spiked room before the rope tugs and snaps! He has a close encounter with the spikes and suffers 10 damage! Ouch! Fortunately, with one desperate leap he grabs onto the handle. He clings on for dear life and survives to the other side.

OOC: Map updated. HP updated.

You are in a dimly lit and quiet corridor. The noise of the dragon's scream is now far behind you. To your east, a locked door blocks your entry.

You know hear the sound of something dripping.... drip.... drip.... drip.... in the room to the east.

Anyone may move or act.

HP UPDATE

Exile slips towards the east, his blue eyes on the door that leads that way, his ears alert for any trouble

Rohan steps aside to accommodate your presence, but remains near the door.

In the room to the east, you hear the sound of chewing and gnawing, and the dripping noise is amplified. Drip... drip...drip.

The skeleton warrior besides you stares mindlessly at the door.

"I think we have danger up ahead"
OOC: Is there any way yet for a cleric to detect evil or ward a door? Or is that not 'til a rule update?

Technically, there's no way for a Cleric to light up the room yet anyway, but as I said before, will allow leniency until we get that worked out. Read a prayer and we'll see what it does. :)

BTW, hard at work on the skills list but with 25 classes and about 25 class-specific spells/skills, I think this might take awhile.... :(
Kemuel pauses for breath and closely examines the door.

"I concur, Father. In my experience, gruesome dripping sounds should ideally be avoided. And yet, exploration and adventuring is our raison d'etre, so Rohan, do you think this lock is breechable?"

OOC: Sorry there's so much to do!!! Do you need a hand at all?
Rohan looks at Kemuel with a smile of glee.
"No lock is too hard for me. Step aside!"
Rohan began to fiddle with the lock...

OOC: It's OK, I enjoy it. But, it will take awhile so sit tight! In the meantime, suggestions are always welcome on the Guild Hall Page.

The lock opens with ease yet again, though a spring caught you on the hand, dealing 1 damage.

The door is now unlocked. There is a momentary pause in the sound of gnawing and gnashing that you heard earlier. The door gently slides open and with trepidation, you enter the room.

Oh boy, this doesn't look good!

Poisonous spiders crawl along the ceilings, feasting upon the rotting corpses of bandits, while they are still half alive. Their blood drips from the ceiling and onto the floor.

Spotting your entry, the spiders take to the ground, leaving their captives (some still alive, but bleeding) dangling in the cobwebs over ahead. Note: these spiders are weak to fire, but they are poisonous! Also note, they can fire missiles (acid spray).

Meanwhile, several skeleton warriors (melee fighters) advance upon your position.

Arkades' has some healing power left, but it is waning, and this is sure to be your toughest fight yet!

Fortunately, you have the jump on them and get the first turns!

Round 1
Exile - move 1 or act.
Rohan - move 1 or act.
Kemuel - move 3 or act.
Arkades - move 4 or act.
Skeleton (he has a bow like the bandit before him, fires arrows) - move 2 or act (Exile controls this creature.)

Reminder: you can move through occupied spaces, it will bump the person - or monster off that space.
