It’s been a while since we’ve had a special interviewee on GOG.com, but whenever opportunity arises, we love to sit down with people behind classic PC games and ask them some of your questions. Today, you have a chance to delve into the process of creating an amazing adventure game like the gripping, captivating, supernatural detective series Gabriel Knight because we have Jane Jensen, series designer and writer, ready to answer 6 questions from the GOG.com community.

Jane Jensen began her career in the gaming industry in Sierra Online, co-writing and co-designing Police Quest III and King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow. Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers was her first solo game and it was a debut worth the Computer Gaming World's "Adventure Game of the Year" title. The Beast Within: A Gabriel Knight Mystery and Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned followed later and established her position as an acclaimed designer and writer. In 2012, Jane, along with her husband (composer Robert Holmes, who wrote the music for the Gabriel Knight series) formed a new game development studio Pinkerton Road.

What do you want to know about Gabriel Knight series?
Are you interested in the creative process behind creating PC adventure games?
Maybe you want to know more about Jane’s future plans?

Whatever questions you want to ask, now is the time to do so! We’ll select 6 questions to send to Jane along with a few of our own, and the authors of the selected questions will be rewarded with any free classic $5.99 or $9.99 GOG game of their choice. You can submit as many questions as you want until Wednesday, April 18 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
My question:
What do you know about Marie Laveau???
Your recent game Gray Matter was wonderful and unique. Where did the inspiration come from?

Which games, movies or books fueled your imagination the most in the past?

Which was more difficult to finish and release - Gray Matter or the first two Gabriel Knights, and why?

What is your favorite new adventure game?

Which other game genres do you like?

My questions are:

What was the first videogame you played and what, if any, videogames inspired you to get into the gaming industry.

What piece of advice would you give to any developer, professional or amateur/fan, who wishes to create an adventure game?

What were some of your biggest hurdles and achievements in the Gabriel Knight series?

What were some of the fun and oddball moments at sierra and other companies you've worked at? Were there any coworkers who stood out during those times?

That's all i can think of. Yes my avatar is from GK2. Gabriel Knight is one of my favourite adventure game series, thanks for all the fun times!
At the time when Gabriel Knight came it, it's tone was a bit more mature and serious than other adventure games at the time

What was your main inspiration for making a game like this and were the Locations or Characters inspired/influenced by anything?
When writing the story to a game, do you include puzzles into the story or are the puzzles added after the writing process.
I have only this one simple question:

What do you think about modern remakes of old adventure games? Don't you think / afraid that new remakes could spoil the glory of the old classics in some way?

I have a few questions:

1. If you could go back and remake any GK game which would it be and why?

2. Would you like to work with FMV again like in GK 2? How was it compared to working on games without fmv?

3. With your recent kickstarter is it a goal of yours to eventually obtain the GK IP or at least license it to make a new GK game?

4. What inspired you to make the GK games? Was GK based upon a person you knew or just someone you made up?
What was your reaction when the Cleavage of Samantha was censored and covered up in the US boxart of Gray Matter?

lol!
Would you make another Gabriel Knight game if you were given the IP or asked to participate by the current IP owner?

If so do you have any ideas were you would take it?

Which of the Gabriel Knight games is your favourite?

Given the significant differences in presentation between the original Gabriel Knight games (first being a 2d adventure game w/ sprites, the second introducing (and mastering) FMV, and the third using a 3d engine, which did the greatest justice to the original concepts behind the game?

Do you like that Gabriel Knight has become the thing that everyone asks you about or is it irritating?
