It's fine if a company with an overly-specific name expands beyond the name if it becomes restrictive.

GEICO - Government Employees Insurance COmpany. The public can buy from them now.
Kentucky Fried Chicken - They sell grilled chicken now.
These are perfectly accepted companies who are not mocked for their inaccurate names. I mean honestly, if you were running a company, would you choose profitability or the integrity of a name?
