kiva: I think its the games also. This time its basically 3 games. Also they have been on sale quite cheap and often.
Seems more like two and a half games to me, since Shadowsgrounds Survivor is just a sequel to Shadowgrounds, if I understand correctly, so the same type of game. If you don't like one, you probably won't like the other much either. And all are from the same developer; not as varied and interesting as the bundle #2 (which I missed, unfortunately).

I checked out the Trine demo but the only resolution it would run smoothly in with my system and video card was the terrible 640x480 ... :D Shadowgrounds seemed ok but there are so many better games out there to spend my time on, I think I'll pass on the HB#3 (besides, Shadowgrounds is on GOG, too, should I ever wish to play it).

Not that I know of.
I don't see this one doing as well as the others because all the titles are really similar. I think I'm passing on this one because, honestly, I'm not going to play any of these games.

Get Trine if you haven't played it. :)

I don't see what people liked about it. The physics were wonky, the platforming was uninspired, the enemies dull and the classes didn't play as much into the gameplay as they could have. I rarely ever used the soldier, only used the wizard when I had to make boxes and found I could archer my way through everything else.

I got it for $5 so I can't complain. I know they priced it as high as $30 (maybe even $40 initially) so I can understand then. At a $20ish list price point I think the game is good for what it is. I agree the lack of enemy variety was disappointing but I found nothing wrong with the platforming. It is true there aren't many situations where you are forced to use one character over another but I think they intentionally designed it to be more open. I also thought the artwork and music were exceptionally good -- one of the main reasons I bought the bundle (despite owning Trine) was for the soundtrack.

Same here : I initially bought Trine for 10€ (boxed) and loved it. The art is amazing. The coop mode is great too, provided you can use 2 keyboards and 2 mice. With a gamepad, only the warrior (and maybe the thief with some practice) is really playable. The mage must use a mouse.
