Best acquired after you send a cheque Bethesda's way, lest they blame you for lost sales.

Actually, I'd really like to see how would they react to that :D
Indeed. And I was so hyped about the game that I failed to check that when I pre-ordered it from a local store that didn't think the Steam requirement was worth mentioning on the product's page. Not that I wouldn't have bought it if I knew it was on Steam, but at least I would have spared myself a slight disappointment when I received my game box.

It took them about 2 months since release to have the retail version finally available in my country. Hard to blame someone for lost sales when you don't actually sell...

If they were dicks, they could trace the cheque back to you and try and do you for pirating. >.>

Oh great = )

Great disappointment and puzzling by my side. How can Bethesda make their games Steam only? A company that makes great games, old-school and etc. etc. It is a shame for a company like this does not support anti-drm, anti-client opinions. It is a shame for them i think. Only with the support of companies we could reach again the great state of PC gaming. But they choose to join to hype. They could be the company inspire of affect directly the change of history of PC gaming. Yet they don't act. Bah, it seems not everyone is so much of an idealist as i think.

What is Steam? It is like installing a toolbar beside your game but 10 times worse than it. Plus you don't have a "checkbox" says "No, thank you I don't want to install" = ) (If you have other opinions please save them for yourself)

I guess and unfortunately i will choose the pirate bay version when the time comes.(When i complete the other 4 games in the series.)

Skip at least Arena. It has nothing on Daggerfall. You might even want to skip Daggerfall if you haven't been a gamer in the 90s. It aged rather horribly and its dungeons aren't for the easy discuraged.

Morrowind however is brilliant and -at least- on par with Skyrim. Oh, and when it comes to Oblivion get ready to mod the shit out of that (or skip it altogether).

My rage would consume the entire world.

No not really, I'd probably just throw up a little in my mouth, and perhaps a part of my soul would be torn from me and disappear into a deep, abyssal void.

I beg to differ sir, though I see where you're coming from. If you can get past the awful interface, and can deal with the occasional chance of falling through a hole in the dungeon into infinite space, then Daggerfall is worth playing.

Damn ancient vampires though. Damn them all. Buggers still creep me out today. One thing that disappointed me when I transitioned from Daggerfall to Morrowind was the change in art style. Daggerfall has a gothic-medieval feel to it, and the overall tone is bleak and grimdark; Morrowind is just high fantasy altogether.

Does that happen everytime someone's a dick around you? 'Cause your soul's probably shattered at this point.

In fact i completed Morrowind and the Tribunal expansion pack from the series. But if i go from number one i want to play Morrowind again.(plus its other expansion Bloodmoon) I was a gamer in the late 90's like 1997 and 1998. But i define myself as a hard-core gamer, completionist and not easily discouraging. I will try them and if i can not find anything interesting i will skip.(but i aim is to complete them in my heart of course).

Btw, i updated my post about Bethesda and Steam.

Honestly, if your looking for who to blame on why BS (gotta love those initials) went to steam, you can blame me.

Me and people like me who were so pissed at getting burned on oblivion that we pirated F3 because there was no demo and we sure as hell were not going to jump in cold Turkey for a second burning.
