I hated that stupid office block, anyway. I hope we were all wearing our seatbelts.

It would help avoid rep abuse though.
You can down vote any number of posts, true. But it used to be that a certain amount of down voting was required before it took effect - in terms of both rep and how the post was rated. Meaning that a certain number of people had to consider that post... undesirable for it to become down voted. So one person with a vendetta against you would achieve nothing.

It was a good idea so I doubt that much has changed. After all I've up voted a fair few posts since then and none of them appeared high rated as a result.

For a post to be displayed as "high" or "low" rated, it still requires several people to vote on it. But one person on a crusade can remove (or add) large amounts of rep to their target. That wasn't possible previously, but is now. And it's certainly being abused already.

Well, let's hope it's a bug they intend to fix, rather than something they thought was a good idea. I always liked the fact that *cough* certain people's childish vendettas couldn't have any effect.
