Placing water and lava is still kinda buggy though. Tried so place some springs in my dwarven mine and mostly they just disappeared instead of flowing like they should. And if they stayed the flow wouldn't disappear correctly when you remove the source again.

Only lava behaved that way for me, it is far more persistent than water, which works just like SSP for me :)
Arkose you are a master of mindfuckery. (Go to the underwater city and find his apartment flat.)

MINECRAFT WORKS AGAIN YESSSS
It's routine to set the server to offline mode, so that it won't authenticate with the master server.

If Minecraft.net goes down again, you just change that flag in the server's configuration file and people can connect.

(although I haven't been playing minecraft recently due to exams, so I'm not sure if SMP stuff even went down at all)

If you do that, you'll be named Player, and so every other people connecting, thus not allowing them to connect as the name is already in use. I tested it yesterday locally.
Hmm, that wasn't the case when I did it. You need to have the local information identifying you as whatever nickname (actually, this can be abused if you use the name of an admin, as they're not authenticated except by name) but I had no troubles being me, nor did anyone else have troubles getting into the server as them when I tested it out.

Dunno, maybe it had something to do with the fact that you were playing locally, or a creative mode server or something.

Its was SMP server. How do you force a nickname in that case ? Could be usefull when stuff like DDoS happens again.
The DDoS attack seems to have started again..!? :(
Yeah... Such fucktard spoiled brats... DDoSers don't deserve to play this game !
Login works fine again, at least for now.

By the way, I found it to be too much hassle to have to fetch the server IP each time I want to play, so I set up a domain for the server (just added a subdomain to my own svanrog.se)
Now you can connect to the server with gog.svanrog.se. I can change it to any other domain under *.svanrog.se upon request from any server admin. :)

I mainly just did this for myself, but figured others might have use for it as well!

I wish I could say, but I've really no idea.

Svanrog: That's an awesome idea! I didn't even know minecraft allowed you to do this.
