Your right but I just hate the fact that i cannot, so I will say this... I think its lame that developers of games on arcade and windows store are not compatible if they are the same game and account....

And on a side not the only problem I had with Win8 and its probably my graphic card is when I was upgrading and doing windows update I have to unplug my HDMI cord to my TV or windows gets stuck.

I don't have Windows 8, but I heard the average person takes 15-20 minutes to shut it down. I laughed so hard at that.

Took me about 4-5 minutes (which is already kinda long), and my dad who is a computer programmer...took 2-3 minutes. My friend who is generally horrible with computers, took the same as my dad.

Windows 8 also installs incredibly fast (it auto installs correct drivers and everything)...takes less than 10 minutes to install it. And it runs faster than Windows 7.

Yeah, heard that too. Especially considering they show you the damn button in the unskipable video shown when you first log into windows. (Which was probably made due to those rumors).

As many have said. Windows 8 is a slick and fancy Windows 7. I like the changes, but that is up to everybody himself.

This is why a couple of months ago after needing to reinstall Windows anyway I decided to try to live with Linux, more specifically XUbuntu again. Being a relative noob again can be a bit frustrating at times but conversely it actually reminds me of why I got into computers in the first place, figuring stuff out is fun.

It will depend on your own circumstances of course, but for me, rather than migrate, I think I have managed to stick with Linux longer this time simply because I packed my bags and moved in from the start. Otherwise, unless you're already a seasoned Linux user, you may just find yourself heading back to where you're most comfortable.

I was using Windows and Linux pretty much 50:50 anyway, Windows for games, Linux for work. I suppose I'll keep my Win7 installation around and stagnate around MS tech since I don't really think WinRT exclusive AAA titles would kick off anytime soon (altho I do suppose that anything for new Xbox will be that way.) And I can now slowly migrate gaming to my Linux installation, Steam moving to Linux is more convenient now that ever before and most of my GOG games are actually in PlayOnLinux library, which is fantastic.

Ha, I just recently fixed up a not so old Compaq laptop and chucked Xubuntu on it, and I gotta say I'm really liking it so far. The only problem I have had yet is getting the Wireless network to work, but I think that's something to do with the drivers.

And totally, working stuff out is one of the most fun things in any new OS.. I remember when I got my first laptop, it was a Mac OS 8 or something one, that was fun... :)

Actually it wasn't that long ago that I actually threw away that laptop, or PowerBook as it was called - I hadn't used it in years though, and I don't think it even booted anymore.

So far Drakensang hangs at boot and Assassin's Creed 1 via steam refuses to load. AC2 works though if you start it via UPlay in safe mode.

GW2, lotro, Alan Wake, and Dungeon Defenders work with no issue.

Drakensang does the same for me I will post if I find a solution
