kai2: Saga Anderson first appeared in Quantum Break.

foad01: Saga Anderson is not part of the Quantum Break characters. You posted the easter egg in a different game series again.
You said Saga's first appearance was Alan Wake 2. It was not. You are incorrect. Her first appearance was in Quantum Break.

Yes, Saga's first sizeable role was Alan Wake 2, but that does not negate her first appearance, Quantum Break.

Did they re-cast Saga? Yes. You can debate "why?" It could be many reasons -- from a great audition to identity politics to the prior Saga's acting inexperience or even her possible inability to commit to the expanded role -- but the fact that Saga was re-cast is fact.

I did not post anything "again." I posted to a YouTube in my last post above. If someone else posted that video, sobeit.

SargonAelther: She was in the Alan Wake 2 teaser in Quantum Break.
Ah, so she was recast and raceswapped after all. Well, at least that's settled.

If you say so.

SargonAelther: ...
No. This specific easter egg was not an official trailer. It was more some proof of concept.

kai2: ...
It isn't incorrect. The cast of Quantum Break has no Saga Anderson character.

Most Tomb Raider games don't make sense because Lara Croft was imprisoned and killed in Shadow Warrior. This is basically the same nonsense.

no, that was not a "teaser". what it is is that Remedy has created a universe where most of their games are within (there are direct links to the different games, like easter eggs, and connected lore). This was a tv add in the Quantuum Break game. Quantuum Break is from 2016, so at this point development on Alan Wake 2 had not yet begun

Yes... and? Easter egg, teaser... none of that's relevant. None of that changes the fact that the character was introduced as white and then raceswapped. One may think that's good, bad or entirely unimportant, but it happened and that's a fact. The way some people are desperately trying to deny that is baffling.

Holy #¤%#! Watched through the ending with my wife earlier today and that was a rushed ending, after a convoluted, dragged-on story, repetitive combat, with these endless loops.

And yeah, they might've just as well called it "Saga Anderson's story" because the main story WAS about her struggle while Alan Wake was merely a supporter. The devs took a "Mandalorian" for those who saw the last season...

I mean, most of the game is not bad, the game does a few things brilliantly, like mixing fmv and cgi. But the Old Gods of Asgard and the music here is some of the best and funniest (with Tor and Odin) I've seen in a long time and alone makes it worth it going trough the loops.

Old Gods of Asgard Musical Mission (4K) Herald of Darkness

Am I ever going to watch it again, or play it? Never.

EDIT: For those interested in the music:

I still think that Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice has the best mix of FMV and CGI to date.

I doubt any of those five or so people are around.

amok: If it was a film, then yes. But the main point about a game is that it is interactive, so waht you get out of a game also depends on what you as a player does, the decitions you make and how you make them. watching someone else play will only get the game from their point of view (even though there are no comments, as it shows that players actions only.
Sure, you only get to see the actions of whoeever is playing, but the vast majority of aspects of a game can be gleaned just from watching a playthrough. Yes, you won't see all the branching paths or would do things in a different sequence if you were playing yourself, but things like writing, graphics, UI, general gameplay, systems etc. will not change, no matter the type of interaction.

Part of the problem is people in the US feel that US politics dictate things around the world. Remedy is not a US company.

If you dislike what you've seen about the game because of the writing you've witnessed, or acting, or the plot isn't what gets you going, then fine.

But complaining because a character in a multiverse is a different color than an easter egg you saw almost 10 years ago is reaching, fellas. And this is coming from a person who historically votes more conservative.

Stop assuming the world follows your dichotomy of dual parties. Most other civilized countries have more than two parties in their political systems.

And as far as referencing Disney, that's a totally different animal. You're qualifying actual race swapping and esg investment with a character who has never officially been playable in any Remedy game previously.

Maybe if you guys stopped trying to be right all the time, you'd see reality instead of the fishbowl you're staring into.

Yeah, because everyone here is from the US :D Please, person from the US, tell us people from other countries more about the world outside the US :D
Wasn't their previous game Control also Epic-exclusive for a while? Strange how it doesn't have achievements, unlike the versions here or on Steam.

I am not sure if Steam sold the original version + DLCs.

However ... at some point a Complete or Ultimate or Whatever Edition was released, that's the one we get on Steam and GOG now. It's not just a collection of Game + DLCs but a new build.
Epic continued to sell the original Version plus DLCs, still does so. I think they are the only ones to do that.

It could be (pure speculation) that their version + DLCs has achievements, but the Complete Edition doesn't.

Yup, Control and then it's DLC were an Epic exclusive for a year or so. Didn't launch w/ Achievements there.

I'd have to check and all - but I'm not sure if Achievements ever got added there. I do have Control and its DLC's on Epic.

Later, Steam got Control: Ultimate Ed and so did GOG in their Complete form (with ALL DLC's).
