CD Projekt RED, GOG's sister company and the development studio of the acclaimed The Witcher franchise, has just announced their new game - THE BARD: Saviors of Queens. The adventure is supposed to revolve around an undisclosed poet whose name is yet to be determined.

Following recent video game trends the title will offer a very short and linear story. Almost no gameplay whatsoever and twenty launch DLCs, including a special pink banjo (normally obtainable by finishing a game) and a unicorn mount, will have you stuck in front of your computer screen for minutes. Check out the announcement trailer below and visit http://www.saviors-of-queens.com for even less details.
Can someone forward this to BioWare? It's pretty clear where CDPR got the inspiration for this :D
I must say, even though I know it's an april fool's joke I would find a real game like this awesome. As long as it was longer of course. And wasn't linear. And didn't play itself. And didn't come with 20 launch dlc. But you get what I mean. :D

DUDE! A Pink Mandolin skin! I'll be all over that shit. Just need to find out how many Bioware points it costs.
So are we going to see WoW, or maybe EverQuest or Ultima Online anytime soon?
I would like to learn this... Mandolin Fighting Style.
HA HA!!

I love April 1st.

Ha ha
Methinks *this* was the game that was referenced in the survey GOG linked us to... ;P
I love it! All games should have 'auto-play' option. Well played.

p.s. Sorry to hear about your fridge
So... lemme guess... PvP consists of dueling banjos?!? ;)
Yeah I loved the Mandolin fighting style too.

hehe, the interview is funny .... "Yeah we developed it in, like, 2 weeks"
Love you guys, thanks CDP :)

anyone remember this one from a few years ago?

OMG! THIS LOOKS EPIC! O_O

Please tell me there's a $150 special edition with a four-time activation limit that requires GFWM as well as Steam that I'll be able to pre-order from Gamestop with an exclusive bonus! That'd really make my day.

...Oh, wait a minute! You almost had me!

I just checked the calendar, and today is my friend's birthday. I almost placed a pre-order when I still needed to buy some gifts and party stuff! Nice try. ;)
This is going to be the best game ever!
(Even better than Duke Nukem Forever, which was so awesome, that I collapsed in an orgasmic fit, and I was just playing the DEMO!!!)

Isriddari: You have to check out the developer's diary at the website.
"On the easiest diffuculty setting of THE BARD-SAVIORS OF QUEENS the game plays itself, so you are not burdened by any gameplay"
Brilliant.

I wan't this game.
Just like the new Donkey Kong for Wii!
Lol i like that now all it needs as well as that do everything for you easy mode is a drm that eats your hard drive of everything so you dont have to have the hassle of using your pc again :)

MaceyNeil: For april 1st you tried a little too hard, you could of really had people going in the belief of a new 'bard's tale', but yeah... fail.
I'm pretty sure they didn't expect anyone to take this seriously for more than a couple of seconds.

This was absolutely brilliant. I wish more April's Fools jokes were actually funny like this instead of just mean.

Edit: I just saw the "Developer's diary" video. That guy is just hilarious, I love it how he constantly changes accent.
