CD Projekt RED, GOG's sister company and the development studio of the acclaimed The Witcher franchise, has just announced their new game - THE BARD: Saviors of Queens. The adventure is supposed to revolve around an undisclosed poet whose name is yet to be determined.

Following recent video game trends the title will offer a very short and linear story. Almost no gameplay whatsoever and twenty launch DLCs, including a special pink banjo (normally obtainable by finishing a game) and a unicorn mount, will have you stuck in front of your computer screen for minutes. Check out the announcement trailer below and visit http://www.saviors-of-queens.com for even less details.
Now that there is funny!!!
"...twenty launch DLCs" - it's not funny! it's scary! it's the future of games.

"Lodówka się zepsuła... AGAIN"
That what made me laugh!
Hmmmm is that the new model for Dandelion in The witcher 2?
And i'm also guessing that this is runing on the new engine?

I'm afraid it's very hard to traslate "Lodówka się zepsuła" to english. It is in fact mean "Fridge was broken" but i also contain implied meanings. One it that it was broken by itself. And second that this happen quite recently.

Tell me this not is a joke.
I really want Dandelion to be a playable character in The Witcher 2. Even if it's just a skin for Geralt. Seeing Dandelion beat people over the head with his mandolin was too funny.

The Doppler's Essence mod for TW1 allowed you to turn Geralt into any one of a bajillion NPCs, including Dandelion. It was only a skin mod, though, so it didn't affect gameplay and it was limited to the character's skin, not weapons. Hopefully somebody will make something similar for TW2.

This was very funny. :))) However, in 10 years we should have a quick look back and hopefully it's still funny and not true. If not...

I'm not the april fool, although it's still funny. :-)
I like "when it's done" and "it will play itself"/"2 hours gameplay" (completely relevant to the state of affairs today). Thanks CD Projekt RED and GOG!
Okay. When this comes out Ill get my copy on gog. Come on - game that can play itself? This is what I call new even groundbreaking idea. This is what innovation is all about.

Perkel: Best of April Fool Day goes to CD PROJECT RED.

Damn that was fun trailer ! :) I'm even more pumped for W2 :)
agree
LOL!
Damn it... All those hours practicing in Mandolin Hero gone to waste.
This "consolites" is what pisses me off about the modern state of gaming. I am a PC gamer, and I demand the complexity and originality we had in PC games a long time ago. How long do we have to wait for the new Elite? The new Limbo of the Lost?

First, the so-called "gameplay unburdened by repetitive activities" is totally unoriginal, and it was already done in Progress Quest -- almost 10 years ago!

Second, what is this crap about "Mandolin style fighting"? This is a complete misrepresentation of the Musical Martial Arts! Give me a range of styles, from Brazilian Capoeira to the French "Jusqua-Cul" Flute stabbing techniques! Give me a complex, varied fighting system which takes into consideration Strength, Stamina, Constitution, Build, Height, Weight, Hair Texture, Sexual Orientation and Morale! (For example, certain "Flute Coups" not only hurt but also really lower the morale of your opponents.)

So this news from CD Projekt Red make me really sad. I mean, I have not really played the Witcher series yet -- no point in downloading a pirated version of a DRM-free game -- but I heard good things about it -- like, it had lots of hookers and explicit sex, just like real life.

Anyway, I hope Atari's consoles burn so we can get to PC gaming like in the old days. Fools!
