CD Projekt RED, GOG's sister company and the development studio of the acclaimed The Witcher franchise, has just announced their new game - THE BARD: Saviors of Queens. The adventure is supposed to revolve around an undisclosed poet whose name is yet to be determined.

Following recent video game trends the title will offer a very short and linear story. Almost no gameplay whatsoever and twenty launch DLCs, including a special pink banjo (normally obtainable by finishing a game) and a unicorn mount, will have you stuck in front of your computer screen for minutes. Check out the announcement trailer below and visit http://www.saviors-of-queens.com for even less details.

SolDaeDra: I am surprised this game does not exist already. Can anyone think of titles like this that actually exist?

The Bard's Tale ..... except for playing itself and only 2hrs long.
Hmm, I realize this is just a April Fools joke... but... I'd buy it! lol
Ha! Take that, Dungeons and Dragons! And every other RPG that has a class of adventurer that wanders into a dungeon or wilderness, finds a monster, and SINGS at it!
Hehehehe, nice parody of the entire state of the modern gaming industry. It's funny because it's all too true.
That trailer rocked! I'd buy that, seriously. Better yet, let it be a witcher 2 mod!

I would not be surprised if it is
God damnit, I'd play this game.
Its like the game I wanted " the bards tale" to be.

A tale of an amoral rogue with violence, sex and fun.

what a pity :(

But it was! Well, not enough sex, because Bard was kinda looser.

I would play it. Hell, I was even excited.
I love what you're doing, GOG. My heart is filled with warmth because of this excellent humor. If only this were true.
Add the ability to 'El Kabong' with the lute, and im in.
I am mildly disappointed this is not a real game.

Not because I want to play a silly Mandolin Fighting Style game or a "fantasy" game where bards kill dragons by stuffing grenades in undisclosed orifices. No!

But the idea of playing an actual espionage-based fantasy game where saying (or singing) the right thing is the key to success instead of fighting YET ANOTHER FEW HUNDRED ORCS intrigues me. Like a Bard's Tale re-remake where you actually do get to do bard-type stuff and get involved in court intrigues instead of slogging through dungeons. THAT game I would not mind playing at all!

MaceyNeil: For april 1st you tried a little too hard, you could of really had people going in the belief of a new 'bard's tale', but yeah... fail.

Dreadjaws: I'm pretty sure they didn't expect anyone to take this seriously for more than a couple of seconds.

This was absolutely brilliant. I wish more April's Fools jokes were actually funny like this instead of just mean.

Edit: I just saw the "Developer's diary" video. That guy is just hilarious, I love it how he constantly changes accent.
April fools is not about being cruel nor technically about being 'funny' it's about showing what gullible fools human beings are.
How you do that is by intricately misdirecting and misleading people subtly so they jump to conclusions that are false that for example they might try to pass off onto others as truth.
Without this necessary quality it becomes a moot point whether it's an April fools day joke or not.
People must trip up on their 'fact', to hence experience the humiliation associated with realizing they were so easily mislead and thus be humbled by the joke.
