Anyone try this game out yet? I'm severely on the fence about getting it, big fan of Baldur's Gate and the like, and I'm trying to decide if I want to get it now or wait a few months hoping for a nice sale. any thoughts?
it's not out yet..
It'll officially be available for download at 10am.. stardock time for me..
Wait for the inevitable GoTY version. That's my advice. All this DLC bullshit is making my head spin. Hopefully they'll just cram it all into the GoTY version and that will be that.

also, I preordered the deluxe version off of impulse with a coupon code, got it for only $52 and I get all the DLC and the soundtrack.

As long as you have other games to play, it's usually a good bet to wait a month for the first wave of patches to come out that at least take care of game-breaking bugs. Once the game seems halfway stable, buy and update.
Nope. But i just read the PC Gamer review ( = awesome ) and the eurogamer review ( = sucks, but still gives it an 8/10 for some reason).
Who knows...

yea, my problem is that the other games aren't really holding my interest. I got Chronicles of Riddick and Call of Heroes for $5 each on D2D, but for some reason they're not really grabbing me, probably because the first doesn't run well on my system and the second, well, I've come to the realization that I'm not that into RTS's anymore (used to be a C&C junkie).
I guess I could finally finish up Valkyria Chronicles...

Company of Heroes. Yeah, that one didn't impress you much. :P

haha... oops. The game's pretty solid, just the gameplay type is starting to get old to me. I've noticed that I get annoyed by the control schemes and the view points. I'd probably like Supreme commander better because of its zoom out capabilities, Company of Heroes is so zoomed that I get annoyed having to constantly scroll to different locations, plus I'm getting tired of micro managing building queues. Maybe I should've gotten DoW 2 instead

DoW2 is made by the same developers as CoH and has somewhat similar gameplay. It's more tactical with action RPG elements. Which, if you're not really into RTS games might be just what you're looking for.
However, I found Company of Heroes campaign to be infinitely better structured. DoW2 boils down to killing powerful bosses and defending certain points of interest. Repeatedly. It doesn't have the set pieces, the variety or the detail. It's still a good game. But doesn't shine like CoH.
This is coming from someone who's generally bored of WW2 games and loves the 40K universe too.
If you are going to play Company of Heroes do yourself a favor and only bother with the skirmish. Campaign is OK but skirmish is infinitely better.
I played Dragon Age in London for the Warden's Quest event. Awesome game. If you generally wait until games are cheaper, then it will be more than worth it then, but IMO it's worth it now. The Stone Prisoner DLC comes free with the purchase of a new copy. The Warden's Keep is the only one you have to pay for. All the other little stuff is just minor crap you can make in the toolset (if you have the PC version).
EA don't want to sell it to me. So I'll wait until the Steam year end sale and if it's suitable discounted, get it gifted to me. If EA don't want my money, I'm very prepared to wait sometime to get this game cheaper so they make less profit from me.
They should just be grateful that I don't do what a large number of people will be doing -- and I bet a large number of *those* people could actually buy the game very easily.
