See, I've never had DRM break anything either, and I bought retail copies of Bioshock and Spore, and a bunch of stuff on Steam and i have impulse for Sins and GalCiv 2. I really like buying things of steam more then impulse, mainly because of the chat and everything. Plus I am on an internet connection 99% of the time, and if i'm not, the offline mode always works without a hiccup.
I'm not sure what I don't like about Impulse, I think i'm just more comfortable with steam and really like what they're doing. Steam has really good deals as well, and they're on games I really want. I was contemplating buying STALKER a little while ago, but couldn't fork over the $20, so they had it for $5 one day and i instantly bought it. I also got audiosurf for $2.49, Soulstorm for $7.49, Civ 4 complete for $15, Ghost Master for $5 and Doom and Doom 2 for a buck each. Hell, they just had Left 4 Dead for $25, and that's almost brand new.
Impulse has great deals as well, but they're games that I have never heard of, and can't get a demo of or anything, so my money goes to steam more often.
I want to buy Supreme Commander Series from Impulse, I wanted to buy them from Steam but they are not available on Steam, :(
Also Braid is coming to Impulse on 31 March for $19.95. You can pre-order it now.

A couple of weeks ago they had Titan Quest and one of the Dawn of War expansions for sale, and if you've never heard of those you have bigger things to worry about.
I know many of you said Gal Civ 2 was pretty good, and I just wanted to say that Stardock is having a sale of Gal Civ 1 for $3.99
Sorry for resurrecting this old topic, but I have a question about the Impulse.

Tonight bought Section 8 Prejudice game from Impulse. I don't have an account and used the PayPal option. They took my money and told me to wait for an email with instructions how to download my game.
Is it really true that I should wait up to 24 hours until I am able to start downloading it? Do I have to make an account or wait for them to send me something? I am really confused because I made my purchase 3 hours ago and still no news from them, while on Steam, GoG and others I can start to download the moment I pay.

I would buy the game from steam, but GFWL locked the game for my country.

That's ... unusual even for Impulse. Is the game acutally released there? As Europeans they tend to be the last ones to unlock a game for download. Only yesterday they unlocked M&B Fire & Sword at 23:00 GMT which is f**k all use for Europeans looking to play it now.

Actually I was searching for a solution where to buy it on the game forums and some dev posted that it is released worldwide on impulse and gave the link.

Then I would get on to their support about it. It should have been added to your Impulse account exactly as it would with Steam. Only e-mail you should recieve is possibly your GFWL key.
Check your junk mail folder and make sure your e-mail didn't get sorted out as spam.
Thanks, but I don't have any account. I just clicked on checkout options to see what they accept and saw PayPal. Then clicked on it and it sent me to my PayPal account and asked me if I want to pay for the game or something. Then PayPal sent me confirmation email and that I should wait for an email with instructions what to do.

@jungletoad Yeah I checked 100 times last hour :P

I think they made me some stardock account with my paypal info, but I don't have a password. The only way to get one is to report I forgot the old one, but don't know if I have to do it really.
