LBartley: What will do what?
Also, yes ma'am.

you can buy the games on steam and then link your previous acct to those games.

Almak says though, that you can't buy trilogy and link it if you already own prophecies. Are you saying that's not true?
What I meant is that you would not be able to associate retail GW (and expansions) to your steam account. You can however associate your previously owned GW account to a Steam bought game. I don't see any reason as to why that wouldn't work.
Actually now that I think about it this raises a few questions. Games you buy are associated to your in-game account. And from what I read on the Steam forums Steam does not let you associate your retail games to your steam account (tried this myself, didn't work) but since there is no separation between the players on either platform in the way of servers (Steam/Retail) theoretically you would own the games associated to your steam account by the means of your in game account as long as you buy at least one GW game on steam... ook
I think I'm going to stop now before my head implodes. But one thing is for sure Steam doesn't recognise retail activation keys (or at least it didn't when I tried it).
All in all I suppose I'm the wrong person to ask. All my GW games are retail so youre probably better off listening to Weclock since he seems to be the one with the actual first hand steam GW experience.

OK, Steam aside, because it really just seems like a senseless extra step. I have prophecies, if I buy trilogy from the NCStore, it should link up just fine with my existing account?
Does anyone know if it just ignores the fact that I already have Prophecies, or if it's cool, and lets me actually give away a key to someone else?

If I was to guess its the former but have a look at the forums here, see if they can clarify the situation.

Having a look here though I think it will not provide a separate key for you to give away since the trilogy is just a single activation key in itself:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_Trilogy
Also personally I think there shouldn't be any problems liking your account to Trilogy but don't take my word for an absolute. If you want to be positive, check the official site (likely the FAQ) and the guildwarsguru forums.

I recently made it to Lion's Arch I think, and I am level 15 Ranger/Necro named Rohan The Raven. I would love to play with some GOG members since many of us share many common interests. I have not beat any of the games since I have issues every now and then with my internet. THat, and I play plenty of other MMOS.

I can help you sometimes with Prophecies campaign, until the final few missions it is fairly easy. In the other campaigns I was forced (well, kinda) to use help of someone else, but they're completed too. Now only the EotN campaign remains.

Send a whisper if you see me online, I might have time to help.
Names of some of my characters are ca on pages 1, 8 and maybe somewhere else too.

RafaelLopez: This is cool :) not so different from what it looks like today though, except character selection. Is there more than one type of guild hall? It seemed to me they all look like an old temple, sat someplace on the Burning Isles (poor choice of name for isles, by the way).

klaymen: Available types of guild halls
EDIT: wrong link

Umm... cool... then... I'm pretty sure... my guild picked the worst possible hall... *mumble mumble*

Almak: A word of caution. If you buy the Trilogy you will not be able to associate it to your existing account since from what you have said I gather that you already own Prophecies so you will essentially be buying a part of the game you already own. I recommend you to go to their official page and recover your account information, than download the game client they provide and re-download prophecies. After which either buy the standalone expansions from their integrated online shop or at your local retailers. Steam versions are somewhat overpriced anyways. And if its the Steam Community integration that you want just add it as a non-steam game. Community features work perfectly (tested myself).

LBartley: This seems really stupid.
So, people who own prophecies are expected to pay another $70 to get Eye of the North, Nightfall, and Factions, while new buyers can get the whole lot for $50?
it won't just ignore prophecies and activate the other two? or, even better, spit back a spare key for Prophecies?
I bought Prophecies recently specifically to see if it could hold my interest. so far it's doing a good job, but I'm just getting started. I was wondering about my options for upgrading, but it seems only the least attractive option is valid...

From this post I gather customer support will do what you want.
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/lets_play_guild_wars_gog/perm=130/#p_b_130
I find it more logical however that, if you want it to "spit back a spare key for Prophecies" that you simply start over a new account and try to pass your old one along.
That and note that new buyers can't get the whole lot for $50, not from stores anyway. $50 is the trilogy, which doesn't include Eye of the North.

since it's so cheap on steam, I figured I'd bump it
Will there be fishing in Gilled Wars?
I haven't been able to play this in a long time. I need to play it again..
I need to go back in it too. At least to finish some achievements.
