einexile: (Also I'm the only person in the world who thinks Factions is the best of the three.)

Well, the Factions professions and exclusive PvP formats are fun, as are the elite missions it's just the story missions are lacking, and all are pretty much "rush to the end and kill everything on the way."

einexile: There's a cheap copy of Prophecies (the first game) on eBay right now, just the CD key. Seems vaguely shady, and might be a EULA violation, but the seller has good feedback and the bidding is at $1.80 so w/e. Guild Wars CD keys are sealed in perforated foldy paper slips that you tear open, so one thing they can't do is sell you a used key by accident.

I bought my Nightfall key from one of those super sketchy chinese game key websites for like $5. Never had any problems in two years.
Ive started a nightfall and prophecies character. Why does prophecies feel so much DIFFERENT? In nightfall you mow down fools 24/7 and in prophecies you dont get any heroes or party members to start off and it feels like you level much slower. I like prophecies allot more. You can actually work on your class at the beginning rather than just let 625 NPCs do the work. Im all for NPCs but not at the beginning.

Nightfall and Eye of the North are the only two parts that give you heroes, and Eye of the North is meant for level 20 characters anyway so your character should have a good build before you go(not that that stops people who don't have a clue from going there).
Factions also has no heroes but you level to 20 way too quickly to really learn how to play your character, so if you don't know what you are doing before hand it is a hard place to start.
Prophecies also has what seems to me to be the best developed story-line, which is probably why Eye of the North takes place in the same continent and they're setting Guild Wars 2 initial release there.
If anyone wants to meet up and play any of the PvE missions, then add me: Divine Flux
Thanks, friends
Finally picked a class. I am thinking Necromancer with an emphasis on the curses and direct damage. I can still make a few buddies to help protect me, but the hexes or curses or whatever seemed interesting.
Character name is
Sophia Eigen
So if you feel like working with a n00b, give me a shout.

Necros are cool - Curses can be very powerful in the right circunstances. And Necros are great in PvE because of Soul Reaping - you'll rarely have problems with energy management, which is good.
If you need help, look for me online. I barely play nowadays (lots of other games to play), but if you see me online, feel free to call me and I'll help if I can. Name is "Watchman Lee".
This reminds me. I really should start playing this again now I'm at the post Searing stage =/.

In fact, Soul Reaping is being (ab)used for spell spamming.

Indeed - Soul Reaping is that powerful in PvE. So Necros are very good at spamming spells, and with a good Minion Master build, they are also good with physical damage. A very powerful, versatile class.
I favor Ritualists and Mesmers myself (I do have a Necro, but it's level 17 and saw very little play so far), but I recon Necros are very powerful in PvE. I should play my necro more. ;-)

My main is a ritualist, I have played most with her (and beaten everything except Nightfall, cba doing it).

Same here - my main character is a Ritualist, and I finished every campaign with him - Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North - but he's only Protector of Cantha. I also finished all campaigns with my Mesmer, but she has all three protector titles (since it was my second "playthrough", I took the time to do all the bonuses). I had tons of fun with both of them.
My third most played character is an assassin, and with her I've completed all campaigns but Prophecies. Fun class to play as well.
As you can see, I've played A LOT, which is one of the reasons I don't play GW nearly as much nowadays. But if you see me around online, feel free to call me. ;-)
My main is a W\E. Though I've been playing for quite a while I've only beaten Prophecies and am mainly working on Factions right now (to be fair I didn't get them until last Christmas, and I have had school and everything).
I don't really play any characters, one is plenty.
I'll add you to my friends list. Name is Greg Xevious. If you see me on and you need help I'll be glad to.
Also, if you're not already in a guild I'm in a fairly active one (with a nice sized alliance too), very friendly. Just ask me and I'll get an officer to send an invite.
ok seriously, let's have a guild wars sesh. let me know when you guys can play and we should get together a party.
you'd love playing with me: i'm a paragon, i just make your character better

Alright, i just picked up the Complete collection and right now i don't have too god an idea of what i'm actually supposed to be doing.
Oh well, created an elementalist with monk as a second profession. For some strange reason i find healing kind of fun and this seems to be the way to do it.
