Delixe: Vincent and the Doctor? Magnificent.

I actually thought it was one of the worse ones so far this season. Don't get me wrong, the acting was fine but there was basically no plot. It was just a celebration of Van Gogh which is fine but I'd just as soon as watch a BBC documentary. The 'monster' was basically immaterial and other than some throwaway gimmick gadget the Doctor really didn't do anything to solve the problem/save the day.
Just letting people know that the second game Blood of the Cybermen is out now. In the UK the link is here if you are outside the UK I would recommend www.daveproxy.co.uk
Edit: The BBC have got wise to the proxies. Game wont install on a non-UK PC. Cunts.

Something just tells me that you need to switch the regional settings to English - UK.

Afraid not. My Comp is set to UK normally.

The first one was so mediocre I have no desire to play any of the others.

Ya, this will work (I used to download Dr Who as I am currently in holiday in Ireland).
Anyone else watch the season finale?
Not sure how I feel about it really, there were some really good bits though. If you're not bothered by minor plot holes, cheesy stuff or slightly obvious and slightly nonsensical plot resolutions, then you'll find it brilliant.
To clarify, I enjoyed it immensely, but I do get annoyed by plot holes, handwaving, deus ex machina endings... just have to try and not over-analyse it!

Did the game actually install? I managed to download it fine but it refuses to install claiming it needs to be in the UK even though my PC is region set to the UK.

Well it wasn't strictly a Deus Ex ending it was an (hopefully my spelling is right) Ontological Paradox. I thought it was rather cleverly done overall and a vast improvement over previous RTD finale's that tended to pound great big plot holes with a sledgehammer. It was also nice to have a happy ending for a change.
No idea what happened to the Blinovitch Limitation Effect though which was established back in Day of the Daleks. I guess with reality collapsing all the laws of time were thrown out the window.

<SPOILERS AHEAD! PROCEED WITH CAUTION>
The D-E-M bits for me were the magical Pandorica, the light of which was necessary for everything to conclude positively (Amy and the Doc are shot and the Pandorica heals them). Also, it's this "light" that has the required capacity to recreate the universe.
The ontological paradox (use of the vortex manipulator wrist time-travel device) is handwaved by the universe collapsing.
The Blinovitch effect is noted when the doctor touches the two sonic screwdrivers (there's a big spark), but nothing happens when he touches his dying self.
</SPOILERS>
If you ignore those sorts of things (kinda have to, especially in modern doctor who), it was a very good episode.

Well it's a bit of a stretch to call that a DEM because the effects of the Pandorica were established before the idea to boost it's power was. For it to be a true DEM in the RTD sense of the word the Doctor would have had to do something to the Pandorica to give it that ability out of no-where and then go ahead with the power boost thingy. (trying to use deliberately vague terms here).
I liked the finale a lot. It was funny and cool. Matt Smith is a bit of a clown, more than the previous two doctors, but, surprisingly enough, it really works (at least for me).
I kinda like the "clown" mentality. I've always felt the Doc should be portrayed as an Absent-Minded Professor archetype, and less like the swashbuckling Musketeer type as portrayed by Tennant. Also, anyone notice the Pandorica looks like the puzzle box from Hellraiser?

Holiday in Ireland? Is that like barbecue in Somalia?

It's not quite that warm no.
Also, when he said "Reboot the Universe", who did not think of the "Universe Master Boot Disk" from Jets n Guns?
