Aurum potestas est.

The Guild Gold Edition + The Guild 2 + The Guild 2: Pirates of the European Seas, the entire collection of the fun and complex medieval European dynasty sims, including two titles released today, is available bundled 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $11.97 for the set of three for the next 72 hours!

Europe, 1400 A.D. - The last crusade, which started 6 years before, ended in a horrible defeat when the crusaders failed to conquer Nikopolis before being reached by the armies of Osmans and Serbs. The dream of conquering Jerusalem is forgotten, and European authorities are well aware that over the coming centuries, they will be submerged into defending themselves against the Osman forces, which have several outposts in Eastern Europe. The Roman Catholic church is in a state of devastating dispute and intrigue, and uprisings are clearly just around the corner.

The Guild Series Bundle brings two new titles to GOG.com. The Guild 2 is a unique mixture of RPG and life simulation in an immerse middle ages scenario. The player and his party become part of history and can even change it in real-time. Go back to the dark middle ages and found a new dynasty. Take care of yourself, because your opponents never sleep. Marry a beautiful wife and make new friends; control your life. Hand down your skills and your descendants will greatly appreciate it. The Guild 2: Pirates of the European Seas is a stand-alone expansion that transforms the game into an even greater experience by adding a huge area including the cities of "The Hanse" located at the shores of the European seas. Sea battles and naval trading are added to the gameplay, and a new campaign mode provides more than 10 hours of additional fun.

For the next 72 hours you can transport yourself into the European middle ages and start your very own dynasty of money-grabbing power-mongers with The Guild Series Bundle, for only $11.97. The games are also available separately, for $4.99 each. Titles already owned count towards the bundle completion and the higher discount rate. The offer lasts until Sunday, March 2, at 10:59AM. After that, the series receives permanent 20% off discount for those getting all three titles.

RadonGOG: Why is the german language pack missing in this release? :(
That doesn´t make any sence! It was a german game, why can it even be not in there?!
avatar
ThomNG: We have not expected so many requests on the German language but as they have occured, as, followed after that, also GOG asked us if we can't add them and as we understand the wish that especially on a German game German language should be there, we just send the German language packs for The Guild 1 Gold, The Guild 2 and The Guild 2 Pirates of the European Seas over to the GOG team. As long as no technical issues are occuring (especially on Guild 1 Gold in terms of compatibility with newer OS etc.) I am expecting them to be added soon.

Greetings
Thanks a lot! Da freue ich mich schon drauf!
The Joe would not approve.

HGiles: Instabuy! I played unpatched Morrowind, I can deal with bugs.
Now THAT'S hardcore. :P

And nice release GOG!

Crosmando: Huh, I didn't even know the Guild had a sequel. OK so be honest, is it crappy shovelware or decent?
It is like The Guild 1 except with a character (+ a bit of rpg feel, like stats). Every 2 lvls your character gets a point that it can be spend on a Talent. For example 10% less jail time for crimes. Or your Inns being 10% more attractive to guests.
Your character can get sick, break bones, sprain his ankle etc. All needing a doctor to heal. You can equip him with weapons. Or jewelry that give bonuses.

I enjoy the games. But I think the patches official and community are needed to play the game. otherwise it is more of a bug simulator then a Middle Age business simulator.

TLDR- Like Guild 1, lite RPG, patch it before playing.
Sounds alright, thanks for the info. I get a bit iffy about sequels to decent games made many years after the original, they rarely seem to be as good.
Great to see The Guild 2 appear here.

I own the set on Steam and gave it a playthrough a few months ago running a tailor shop, church, and being all political. I really didn't find it buggy at all.

I'd love to re-buy it here once the rest of the expansions arrive.

I'll be picking The Guild 2 up today for sure! Also, just so you know... Titan Quest & Darksiders please! Both insta-buys!

Great, thank you!
I had a lot of fun with the first game.

Bought it despite the size of my backlog... now I can still pay for it in dollars :p

Very nice of you. You´ve just won one sale!
But just like RS1978 I´d like be a little greedy and ask: Where do you draw the line?
If I compare those two lists...
http://www.gog.com/games##devpub=nordic_games&language=english
http://www.gog.com/games##devpub=nordic_games&language=german
...I´m able to recognize big differences but no real reason behind them!
Can we expect to get EVEN more language packages from you? ;)
Haven't heard/played this game yet; Looks interesting, but ultimately uninteresting to me.

It seems the more accurate or more based on history a game is, the less I want to play it, this includes FPS's. Course I was horrible at social studies and history...

It's too bad the first reviewer couldn't have had your same viewpoint. 2 out of 5 just because of bugs. Maybe you could drop your review and opinion so there's a bit of contrast for the game for being to make a better decision on purchasing it?

Also, I'd like someone to tell me if the GOG version is technically the same thing or if they managed to get out some of these serious game killing bugs.

Beware, do not buy!

This deal is just plain stupid. Why you ask?

The Guild Gold Edition is just fine.

But for Guild 2 you do not need to buy The Guild 2 AND Pirates of the European Seas. All Content from the main Game is INCLUDED in Pirates of the European Seas. Also keep in mind, that the latest Guild 2 Addon is Renaissance, which is not on GOG.

As for this being a german game and GOG not including german language version (again): Shame on you GOG!

My decision to buy elswhere in the future just got fortified.

Regarding the German language version, we actually will be adding it. ThomNG of Nordic games just gave us the German versions of the games today, including The Guild Gold, and, barring any technical issues, we will be adding German to all three of the games :)
